RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA—In a televised speech addressing the pro-democracy protests currently sweeping across the Middle East, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia reiterated that the people of his country should not even think about it. "Get it out of your heads right now," the king said in a firm, unwavering tone of voice while staring directly into the camera. "I'm serious. Whatever you are thinking about doing, it’s not gonna end up good for you. Trust me." The king then widened his eyes, paused, and added, "No."

Wherever the ageing Saudi rulers look, old friends are disappearing or are under pressure, and new rivals of uncertain strength are emerging.
The Saudis are known to have been particularly shocked by the fall of President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and the failure of the US to support him. Yemen, in the south of the Arabian peninsula, teeters on the edge of civil war, and a Saudi-led military force has helped crush the mainly Shia pro-democracy movement in Bahrain. The Saudi authorities were particularly worried that the open protests of the Shia majority in Bahrain would spread to the Shia population in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. In addition, they have always been suspicious, to the point of paranoia, of an Iranian-orchestrated Shia conspiracy to overthrow the Sunni monarchies of the Gulf. |

The most funniest site ever was seeing a saudi prince trying to eat donar kebab with a knife and fork....imitation of the kuffar to a limit that even the kuffar would find funny Saudi Prince goes to Berlin to study. 1 month later he writes to his father, " Dad, this is a great place to study. But I feel really embarassed coming to college in my golden merc when all the teachers come by train." Next day, father replies with a 10 million dollar cheque and letter: "Stop embarassing us. Buy a train for yourself too." |

Whand a Saudi-led military force has helped crush the mainly Shia pro-democracy movement in Bahrain. -Shia and -pro-democracy all at once. The saudi regime is far better than the rest of the "Muslim governments" around the globe. Instead of measuring the angels of the eyes of the Saudi king , Why don't people initiate some Islamic revolution in India where thousands of Muslims have been burned alive by Hindus and Sikhs. It is even hard to imagine that the secular nationalist Deobandis of India will one day stand up for Caliphate in India. Even this "Caliphate in India" terminology seems funny in this era. |

Doctor sahib: Some time back you objected to south African scholar giving fatwah on tahreek-taaleebaan Pak. Similarly sitting in Pak you cannot get the ground situation in India. One thing I can say Shariah is safer in India than Pak under the scholarship of deoband. You speak of khilaafath in India, where is khilaafath in our own house, our markets, our marriages etc. we boast of bringing khilafat in whole India. |

Assalamu alaykum Ramadan Mubarik Ya Akhi Ahmed Sharif. Brother I am not giving any Fatwa. I am just sharing my observations which unlike a Fatwa are not binding upon anyone. The impression i get is that, let alone a struggle for caliphate , India is deprived of vocal Ulemas even , except for Maulana Anzar Shah . The Indian Muslims mostly keep on quoting Pakistani Ulema. If you ask me , i have not heard of Indian Ulema except for three or four may be. It seems that Islam in India has made a secret compromise with the secular face of Indian government and has become an integral homogenous part of it. Correct me if i am wrong please. |
