Default The good qualities of saudis
Since this forum has a lot of saudi bashing let me start a thread on the good qualities of the saudi nation;

1. The jahil and the pious amongst them pray salah with jamaat in the masjid. The % is a lot higher than most countries including the indopak subcontinent where in some places the numbers are so low that it's shameful.

2. Saudi women wear niqab and observe hijab and it is the norm in their country.

3. Saudis are generally hospitable people who spend lavishly on their guests.

4. Saudi Arabians are generally tolerent with those with beards and I would say after the indopak subcontinent they have the most people who grow a beard according to the sunnah of the prophet sallhuwaslaam.

5. Saudis have preserved their national dress. i.e. thobe and kufi etc.

6. Most saudis speak their mother tongue unlike some people from other countries who are desperate to learn and speak english.

1) saudi's have really high tawakkul (trust in ALLAH )
2) generally are very honest and generous.
3) tend to give dua's to each other all the time.
4) and are very respectful when adressing each other, they use terms like "ummAbdullah" or "ummTahira" etc. instead of calling the person by her name - even when talking to someone of their own age!

I will join Pakisnati, Guji, Bangali, Saudi bashing!
its ridiculous and ignorant to bash a whole nation of people or a people from one area based on some people you have met

its like the kafirs do with muslims...all muslims are terrorists...or as the salafis do with the sufis...all sufis are grave worshippers...or the sufis do with the salafis...all salafis are takfiris

good thread.

just want to clarify that i have never bashed the muslims living in hijaz in general, and i dont think any of the other regular posters have either. the bashing was done towards the ruling family and rightly so, in the same way that we bash other governments of other countries.

"Whoever defends the honor of his brother in absence has the right over Allah to be freed from the Fire."
(Saheeh, Ahmad, al-Tabarani.)

More people please contribute if you have good experiences with the Saudis.

Holding people accountable is also part of amr bil maruf
Can you explain how?

Why - when you (O believers) heard of it - did the believing men
and the believing women not think well on their own selves and
(why did they not) say, 'This is a manifest lie'.
- (Quran Surah An-Noor 24:12)

The Tafseer for this ayah thats given in Ma'ariful Quran:

In this verse quite a few things need attention. In the first place the Holy Qur'an
as hinted by the word بِأَنفُسِهِمْ (on their own selves)
that if a Muslim defames and disgraces another Muslim, he in fact disgraces himself,
because the relationship of Islam has brought them all together as one body....

...All these verses point toward one theme, that a Muslim who casts aspersion on another Muslim or
causes oppression and harm to another Muslim, he in fact casts aspersion and causes harm to himself,

because it leads to defamation of the whole Muslim Ummah.

Every time one sees a saudi. Ask them to justify it. Being a backward insular society they don't like to disscuss such thing. It ruins their holier then though image.

It is not the attributes of Muslim and a "tabligi" to abuse other muslim.

Arabi peoples Have different fazil and fazilat upon rest of the world.

No one nation in the world could have spent their lifes, moneys, families in the way of Allah as they have.

A famous hadith states, "A Muslim is the one from whose hands and tongue other Muslims are safe." [Tirmidhi]. Keeping others safe from our hands and tongues does not only mean that we do not hurl stones or abuses at them, it also means that we do not say or do anything that will hurt them.

This year was the first time I went for Umrah (and it was my first trip to saudi). Before going there I had heard tons of negativities. But Alhamdolillah for the entire duration of my stay, almost every person I interacted with was excellent including the mutawwas (religious police) - particularly in light of all the nonsense they have to put up with from all different kinds of people. Even at Jeddah Airport (both the regular and Hajj terminal) which doesn't have the greatest reputation, the people at the counter/immigration greeted me with a smile and were very nice. Alhamdolillah I noticed many of the positive qualities mentioned in the thread above and I had a great experience there.

Bismillah
I sometimes see people putting the saudis too much generalizing too much.
There are really good, kind and generous people there.
We indian and pakistanis as a whole muslim community cant even stand them when it comes to establishing salah and in maintaining modesty like them. This is what sheikh Maulana Abdus Sattar (DB) told, these two things protect them from Allah's punishment descending on them unlike the other countries. When muslims dont perform salah and women dont cover their heads, Allah's lanat showers
