If you feel there are some places I can visit to get a better understanding of deobandis and their version of tassawuf then feel free to share it.

Click on my banner in my signature and see you there, insha'Allah!

Aha. A bit of British humor, perhaps?

Or am I reading something into your reply that was unintended?

BTW, have you read of or studied shaykh Abdul Qadir al Jilani (rh) who was widely respected by shaykh Ibn Taymiyah (rh)?

it was indeed a bit of british humour

I know of shaikh abdul qaadir al jilaani rahimahullah, but i know very little of him, all i know is that he is a universally loved and respected alim from around 5th century hijrah.

Definitely im interested to learn more inshAllah.

I dont like websites though, i like books and courses and weekend seminars and study circles.

I will read a website when its an important topic though like his story, history, list of his works and references so I can read his own words, his methodlogy etc etc

I have already replied you through e-mail, but I would like to clarify this also for the brothers reading the thread, so let me copy-paste that part:

"Regarding the in-depth on the course, I would say that there is to benefit for everyone: last year also brothers attending madrasa were attending and taking benefit from the lessons which happen to be quite in-depth even if the subjects are "basic" (Tahara, Salah); otherwise it would last one weekend, not 14 days!
We'll go through a classical text; last year it was Nur al-Idah; for this years, it has to be decided yet".

So, yes, the subjects are basic (we're not going to study fiqh of finance or else), but they are dealt with quite in depth in a way which will insha'Allah satisfy people at almost all levels..

its not a joke bro. i wish to see the different faces of sufism inshallah. to you its wrong, to its adherents its correct. so i will see what they have to say inshallah, see what they are all about, and then at least it will help me make sense of everything inshallah. if tehre is a deo gathering, weekend or retreat on tassawuf let me know inshallah.

to everyone, please update me on events and gatehrings inshallah, if you need my email address then contact me via admin inshallah, i will only travel abroad to major events that last days but i can travel anywhere in the uk inshallah

im not so interested to travel for fiqh, science of hadeeth, tajweed etc at this stage as i have enough to beenfit from in sheffield alhamdulillah. but major events such as a conference on imam abu hanifah, a tassawuf retreat, tablighee gatehring, things like that which will be interesting and different and not readily available in sheffield i will be greatly interested in inshallah.

bro umar ill see if my wife can manage without me for 14 days and get back to you inshallah

Br. TJ activities are based on certain aspects of Tassawuf though some TJs are ironically anti tassawuf.

If someone claims something to be orthodox, then you have to refer classical text i.e Imam Junaid Baghdadi. He himself says anyone contravening laws of shariah has nothing to do with Tassawuf. He even goes on to say those who are not fimilear with the tradition (ahadith and Sunnah) are not following tassawuf.

Ways to identify true practioner of tassawuf and from those who claim to be sufi
http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...rom-fake-sufis

The only well deo run activity on monthly basis happens at Lecister at IDAUK where Shaikh Saleem Dhorat leades session. He is one of the Senior Muhadith in UK and Alim of shariah and tassawuf. Some mureed here can give you more details.
I know there some seassoned salafist brother attends his session.

Can the moderator allow me to post a pdf. Idon't know how to attach pdf.
Allahualam
