Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah Subhanu Ta'aala this 2008 edition Taleemul Haq, originally compiled by Shabbir Ahmed E. Desai has been totally revised by the staff of The Islamic Bulletin.

The book is now concise, informative, and perhaps most important of all, enlightening. The text is more fluid and readily understood, such as the use of numbers, titles and subtitles, and minor textual rearrangements, including helpful weblinks. Finally we have provided the reader with transliteration of the Duuas (supplications) and Quranic verses in Arabic, thereby accommodating those unable to read Arabic text. We can only hope that what we have done will prove to be useful to the reader in his or her study of this book.

CLARIFICATION

The book in question "Taleemul Haqq 2008 Edition" being distributed by Islamicbulletin is NOT authenticated by Hazrat Maulana Shabir Ahmed Desai Saheb db.

I have personally contacted him and asked him if he authorized any editing or changes in the book. He has assured that NO PERMISSION was sought for this book and None of the changes are to be seen as His View or Madrassah Da'watul Haq's View. He has also asked me to make sure that all know that He does not approve any pictures at all.

This was also confimed by the editor Qari Ismail Desai Saheb.

InshAllah they will be contacting Islamic bulletin regarding this.

Could you let them know that the book needs some Major editing cause right now....I would give it a 5 out of 10. The 5 is for trying.

"Swallowing something edible, equal to or bigger than a grain of gram...."

What's a grain of gram?

So yeah...the book needs some major editing....the book was first published 25 years ago...I'm sure they could have edited it since then....Maybe that's why Islamic Bulletin folks decided to edit it....

So whilst they can contact the IB folks, let them know that someone is suggesting that they need to redo the whole book. Also, if they are going to redo the book, tell them to not include any Urdu in there.

They have Muntakhab Ahadith and the whole Fadhail A'amal and Fadhail Sadaqat on there amongst many other books...

They have scanned versions and Central-Mosque has text-based versions and the ones which are not should be available with us, Insha'Allah. Our priority is to get Maariful Quraan out in text-based searchable (Arabic & English version).

The original also had letters of recommendation by senior ulama from South Africa, India and Pakistan. This new edition has removed these letters. Any revision should contain those letters.

no Br. Shamli, they kept those at the very end. (One reason I called because I though it was all authenticated by them).
They have added pictures with full faces.
Some of the Problems like placement of feet (in pic) are incorrect.

The above is after a mere glance.. have not seen the editing in text yet.

2. They are not visible to us.
3. They do not commit sin nor do they disobey Allah.
4. They do what Allah has ordered.

If someone is to go about fixing the spellings and grammar and creating an index for Taleemul Haq...how does the version get Authorised by the South African Ulama?

We can take the version on Darul-uloom Bury's web-site:

a) Spell check and Grammar check

b) Create proper headings and indexes

c) Clearly mark the changes for the South African Ulama to check and approve.
