Paranormal Investigation
Is paranormal investigation allowed in Islam? ... I mean can I investigate some Haunted House or abandoned location which is said to be occupied by Jinn?
|
I think you are? but are you capable of staying alone all night at that placehttp://discussworldissues.com/forums.../icon_razz.gif
|
I think I am totally capable of doing that, and to test my nerves, I want to attempt one. But before that I want to know what Shariah says about it

Just think of this. If there is a group of murderer, rapist, gangster etc, will we purposely hang out with them for the heck of it? That will be of no use and maybe even harmful. Similarly Jinns who haunt places are worse than the above mentioned, why should we purposely go there for no reason? |
Brother I totally agree with you, but I still want to know if there is any prohibition or not

@Abdullah Musa Asking jinn to do what only Allah SWT can do is- definitely-Shirk as you said. However, asking them to help humans through a permissible way of communication, for instance, if a righteous person is enabled by Allah SWT to communicate with them is permissible, according to Ibn Taymeyah in his Fatawa. So, it depends on the permissibility of the method of the communication and the request itself. Interacting with the Jinn is a different issue; its status depends on how permissible the means of contact with the Jinn was, but, generally speaking, the vast majority of those who deal with the Jinn are not on the right path; they are fortunetellers, or, worse, magicians. These quotes were found in fatwas given by scholar Dr. Main Khalid Al-Qudah here: http://www.amjaonline.com/en_f_details.php?fid=21813 http://www.amjaonline.com/en_f_details.php?fid=21496 |
