Default Talking to spirits?
I went to see someone yesterday that me and my family know well who writes taweez to cure people who have been affected by black magic.

Whilst I was there I got talking to this guy and he was telling me how he was doing this vird for a number of weeks at the grave yard at night on his recent visit to Pakistan. He said at the end of it as he was just about to finish the vird the spirit of the person whos grave he was reading on appeared before him. His appearance looked as though he was just killed wearing the same clothes with blood stains, turns out he was some army general whom had died.

This guy said to the spirit face to face that he needs his help and the spirit replied to him that I'm not from your world and therefore cannot help you. The guy insisted that he needed the help of the spirt and how to recall him if he needed his assistance in the future. The spirit gave him three words to read, when read he would appear in front of him no matter which part of the world he lived in.

I know there is a saying that if the dead wants to communicate anything to the living it would be through their dreams. Also when a person dies they cannot see the spirit of the dead but the dead can see the living.

Is there such a thing in Islam that allows this this to happen or is he making it up?

This man is either majnoon, making it up, A jinn is playing a trick on him or he practices sihr.

Is this mans taqwa as great as the greater ulama of the past. To test whether he is saying the truth make him tahajjud salah for 5 hours every night for a month.

When a person dies he knows his abode. It is either Jannah or Jahannam. If the "spirit" was righteous a door of Jannah will be open ed for him, now you tell me if you were able to stare at jannah wouldn't you keep on marvelling at its beuty. Why would you want to come back to this life?

If you were shown that your abode was jahannam then how could the "spirit" come out of the punishment of the grave?

brother if the person can see miracles then he must be of high taqwa.

If he can pray tahajjud salh for five hours every night for a month will show whether he has taqwa.

Also if the person does pray five hours of tahajjud salah then this will also be very beneficial for him.

Maybe he is hallucinating from the excessive wird?

this man you speak of is an imposter and a black magician in disguise. "vird" is done by black magicians in graveyards or other desolate places where jinn reside.true believers do dhikr (not vird) in the houses of Allah. a black magician has to perform certain rights and rituals in order to gain favour from the jinn. all this involves SHIRK. eg reciting the quran backwards, reading the quran in toilet, writing it in menses blood, etc.

it is forbidden in islam to seek the help of jinn. Allah says in surah jinn 72:6

"and there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief"

surah baqarah 2:102

"they followed what the devils inparted during the reign of Sulaiman. it was not Sulaiman who disbelieved but the devils who disbelieved, teaching men magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels would not teach anyone until they had said for we are a trial so do not disbelieve (in the guidance of Allah)"

the taweez he writes are a form of magic. a contract between the magician and the shayateen. this so called vird he does is infact words of blaspheme and desecration of the book of Allah. an example is the taweez may be written on defiled paper or ink or may contact boxes with numbers or names of jinn responsible for the magic. either way anyone who practises this is a not a muslim.

Allah says 2:102

"and they learn that which neither harms them nor profits them and indeed they knew that the buyers of magic would have no share in the Hereafter and how retched is that for which they have sold their souls, if only but they knew"

so what is a muslim supposed to do when he needs help?is he supposed to go to graveyards and call upon the dead who cannot even avail themselves from death?? what would you do if you have a medical emergency you call 999 and an ambulance. likewise when you need divine help you turn to Allah by calling upon Him.

Allah says 2:186

"when my servants ask you concerning Me say I am indeed close to them(in knowledge) I respond to the prayer of every supplicant when he calls upon Me. so let them obey Me and believe in Me so that they may be rightly guided"

It's a simple case of jinn appearing in front of him. This is a typical case of capturing jinns to use them for work. This has got to do nothing with spirits.

How is reading Quran backwards, reading it in the toilet, writing it in menses blood... Shirk?

What if it doesn't contain any shirk, then?

prophet Muhammad (salallahu alayhiwasalam) said:

"whoever attaches or wears a talismen(amulet) has commited shirk" (ahmed, tirmidi)

"amulets, charms and all forms of bewitchment are acts of shirk"(ahmed, abu dawood)

the reason its shirk is one is associating partners with Allah with regards to His names and attributes. we all know that Allah alone protects, provides and sustains His creation. if we say for example this horse shoe, this tree or four leaf clover can neither ward off, harm or bring benefit, its Allah alone who protects and Allah alone who blesses with His bounty.

If a person says that this medicine cured me, would that be shirk?

it is not shirk but it is something blasphemous n displeasing to Allah(swt) n a way to please the shayateen n evil jins.

Isn't Vird also done by maulvis who find out if someone is affected by Black Magic?

I have heard that they too like people who practice black magic must gain control of the Jinn but instead they use them for good purposes like finding out who has done magic on that person.
