waalikumsalam
i do not only say salam on milad day brother can i pls clarify this, i say salam regularly but on milad day we say salam collectively in thousands as this is a special occasion and a blessed day, what i mean by enjoyment is generally being happy knowing that i might get a slight chance of the shafat of the prophet muhammad s.a.w jazakallah |

Salam Aleykum,
The answer is that the scholars differ and I can see three groups: 1- Milad is impermissible as it is an innovation and it resembles the christian's celebration of Isa's (as) birth, we only have Two 'Eids and we are not allowed to increase our worship on a specific day of the year or week. 2- Milad is not a 'Eid it is a memory and we can spend it doing Dhikr and listening to Seerah as long as we do not do any ghulu or innovations such as "eating cakes" playing with "Fireworks" or inventing any ritualistic acts of worship such as a "new prayer" ect... 3- Celebrating Milad is permissible and anything you do on it is permissible because it shows love. Personally I am somewhere between #1 and #2... |

brother celebrating the milad is permissable all we are doing is sending durood and salam on the prophet s.a.w collectively the day he s.a.w was born nothing else we are not celebrating it the way the christians do for jesus those who do wierd acts are wrong and i dont know why people associate them with the barelvi sunni's, brother what happens in a normal mawlid is that we start of by recitation of the quran,we then send salawaat on the prophet s.a.w we then invite a scholar to give a lecture that will increase our love for the prophet s.a.w and remind us of what the prophet s.a.w did for us and what we are doing now, we then gives food at the end nothing else we dont give presents to each other like the christians or anything like that.
brother you must remember that they are two types of biddah biddah e hasanah- this is innovations that are good for the ummah such as the fatha and kasra that some people have in thier quran is an innovation it wasn in the time of the prophet or shahba, similarly minarets in mosques biddah e sayyiah- is a new innovations that has no origing from the quran or sunnah jazakallah |

I don't believe in Bida'ah Hasanah (regardless of the opinion of the Madhab). |

dont the barelvis also take out juloos on milad day from one mosque to another, causing inconvenience to the road users especially in non muslim countries like UK they also actually call it EID miladun nabi and people get dressed up like you do on eid and the mosque even gives out mitaii |

they call it eid to give it the status of happiness, sister look at the amount of difficulty the prophet s.a.w went through and will go through on the day of judgement asking for your and the whole ummahs forgiveness and you think its wrong to show the world and remind them of what we should be doing just because it causes traffic in london for one day only, the day the prophet s.a.w was born.
no offence intended sister jazakallah |

![]() ![]() ![]() To hold gatherings to speak on Seerah and do zikr is not wrong but too waste money and do juloos where you call fellow muslims who do not do Milad as kafir and gustakh is definitely wrong and thats why ulema declare it impermissible because of unislamic practices. Brother you know the answers to these questions you come here and saying that I want to learn then you give brelwi view of things just do a search and you will find answer to all these questions. |

brother we dont clebrate it on one day a year we do it regularly but on 12 rabi ul awwal it is celebrated on a bigger scale, brother it is not good to make accustaion when you dont know the truth many people do fast on that day, i also agree that they are some bad people who just go to eat etc but at the milad we also warn people to stay within the limits of islam and do embarass this practise,
can u pls prove that the tabieen or the sahabah rejected this act if you sya it is wrong? |
