I thought that was Mahmud of Ghazna. perhaps he was too? myknowledge is limited also in urdu literature is it referred to as "ghazna" or "ghazni"...i'm familiar with the latter.

but abdali was a proper abdal and what i've heard is that he was a mullah aside from being a leader and thus he had the respect of the tribes and the ulema.

Ghazna is the name of the place. He was called Mahmud Ghaznawi.
