Few years back, I got a news from my friend that Shiekh Zulfiqar Ahmed db is coming to our city and will be giving a bayan. At that time, all i knew was that he is a big name in tasawuff so i was very much excited and decided to attend his majlid. After the bayan, people took bayt to him and so did i. Then after leaving the majlis, i dint care what i had done and hence dint start my first lesson with his Khalifa.
Fromt that time till now , i was in touch with 'White cops' (Tableeghi Jamat), was going to the Markaz weekly and had started to grow a beard. But then suddenly, being a student (still dependent) , i faced some ahwaal from my family and relatives and i was banned from going to the jamaat. No more khuroojs meant my imaan level became weaker and weaker. I used to come on sunniforum almost daily, dint posted much but used to read different threads and topics. Then one fine day i saw one user whose signature read "Tasawuf ki ibtida hai Ina mul a'malu bin niyat aur tasawuf ki inteha hai ke to is tarah namaz parh jaise to Allah ko dekh raha hai" I would like to thank this user from bottom of my heart for showing me an alternative. So i decided to contact one of the khalifas of my shiekh. I googled and found one khalifa of my shiekh in my city. I messaged him saying that i want to start my first lesson and that i had taken bayt to Shk. Zulfiqar db few years back. I got a reply saying, Wa alaikum assalam (myname) please tell me a little about yourself. What do you do? Did you take bayah with him with the whole group? Where are you from. Insha Allah will talk further In need of duas tauqeer It felt soo good, its been ages since someone said to me 'tell me a little about yourself' i was so excited i replied him with a big message ![]() Wallahi it feels so good reading an email from the khalifa. I was wondering what would be my feelings when i get to meet him , inshALLAH. I would like to get some advice. What to do and What not to do. |

Thursdays normally at Saniya10 ![]() His majlis takes place in Jumeira, I will explain you the address if you want. You are always welcome for the Majlis. My tarteeb is that I attend the markaz on one thursday and Majlis the other week when we do not have to go to markaz. |

.... Those words remind me of my first email to Hadhrat too. He preferred to talk on the phone with me since I am in the gulf but outside UAE. It was very pleasent. You are very lucky brother. May Allah SWT guide you and increase you in darajat. Ameen. I attended only once and it was very nice. Brothers mashaAllah are very welcoming. |

Assalamu 'alaikum brother, mashaa Allah that Shaykh Tauqeer has contacted you, he usually speaks to you for quite a while to found out more about you, your character, your history etc. Then he sets you with your ma'moolat and every week you give him the record sheet and write down all of your problems (internal mostly) and he will inshaa Allah advise you. I don't know where you are based, but shaykh usually comes to the UK and since you are a brother you can definitely inshaa Allah meet him and accompany him in his special gatherings inshaa Allah. "Tasawuf ki ibtida hai Ina mul a'malu bin niyat aur tasawuf ki inteha hai ke to is tarah namaz parh jaise to Allah ko dekh raha hai" means the beginning of tasawwuf is "indeed actions are with intentions" and the end of tasawwuf is that you are doing your salah as if though you are seeing Allah.
Wassalam. |

![]() i'm very much excited about starting my first lesson with the shiekh. i pray Allah give me istaqamat. What i would like to know is what are the common problems/misconcepts that people have. So many people around me are either not intrested in this branch or they say its not for everyone i.e you will become a sufi. |

I think a major problem could be inconsistency. Once you are in you feel fresh, but slowly you will see that it can be difficult. Consistency is really important, it is one of the hardest things for me. Sometimes shaytaan puts doubts in your head (about your actions, like bayah with shaykh etc), but this has to be told to the shaykh. To be honest it isn't anything like what common sufis are portrayed as being. It is like you are having guide to help you through your issues, he makes du'aa for you inshaa Allah and advises you. You do your dhikr and inshaa Allah slowly you will improve. Maybe it isn't for everyone, but I feel that if you can be consistent and you are ready for a lifetime commitment then this is one of the best ways to improve yourself inshaa Allah. There is nothing I feel wrong in it, just normal, except you have your wise shaykh to help you through your decisions and advise you on how to cleanse yourself. You listen to his islaahi talks and inshaa Allah through constantly listening to him (and being with him since you are a brother) matters will improve and the heart will get cleaner.
