Well so what mother Teresa did so many good deeds why wud she not go to jannah ? ![]() Allah says that the one who rejects the Belief destroys his deeds himself, ََمَن يَكفُر بِالإِيمَانِ فَقَد حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُ (المآئِدَه 5) (If any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work). (5: 5) On another place, Allah says the same thing about those who reject His verses or the Last Day, وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِِئَايَاتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ الأَخِرَةِ حَبِطَت أَعمَالُهُم ۚ (الاعراف 147) (Those who reject our verses and the Meeting in the Hereafter-vain are their deeds). (7: 147) Iman(believing in Allah and prophet ![]() Good deeds = 0 So if a Muslim got Iman His value is = 1 and If he does 100 good deeds then it makes = 1000 A muslim with good deeds got 1000 point. Now a non muslim did 100 good deeds so for him 000. But because he didnt had Iman which is 1, all his 000 got no value. On a check you can put 0000000 , it got no value infront of cashier. but just put a 1 infront of it, you are millionier. If you got only 1 on the check, you are more rich than the person who got 000000 on his check. Allah gives the reward of Non muslim the good he did, in this world. For non muslim there is nothing after their death. Mother teresa got her reward in this world. The Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, said: "Allaah does not deal unjustly with a believer about a good deed as he is given blessings for it in this world and is rewarded for it in the Hereafter; but the disbeliever is given in this life the reward for good deeds he has performed, and when he comes to the Hereafter, there is no good deed for which he can be rewarded." [Muslim]. What does reward mean? money-car-building? No, Allah saved the person from a lot of bad thing which Allah wanted to give, but cause of the good deeds, Allah moved those away and rewarded him by leaving out the bad things which was supposed to happen with him. If a person dies following a religion other than Islam, then Paradise will be forbidden for him, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allâh, then Allâh has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode” [al-Maa’idah 5:72] Good deeds done by a person whilst he is a kaafir will not benefit him in the Hereafter at all, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings): “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:85] “And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust” [al-Furqaan 25:23] “Those who deny Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and the Meeting in the Hereafter (Day of Resurrection,), vain are their deeds. Are they requited with anything except what they used to do?” [al-A’raaf 7:147] ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) a question similar to that asked here. She (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “O Messenger of Allaah, during the Jaahiliyyah Ibn Jud’aan used to uphold the ties of kinship and feed the poor. Will that be of any avail to him?” He said, “No, that will not be of any avail to him, because he never said ‘O Lord, forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement.’” (Narrated by Imaam Muslim – may Allaah have mercy on him) in his Saheeh, 214). |

Swb ![]() i think your answer is right there in your post. if your friend has not submitted to Allah then how will he accept the commands of Allah in the quran? concentrate on making him aware of Allah's greatness and by making him ponder upon the creation of Allah. spend some time with him in tabligh jamaat even for a few days. inshallah he will soon realise how insignificant he is and how great Allah is. once he submits himself to Allah's greatness, power and wisdom then inshallah he will accept the words and wisdom of Allah without questioning why. there are many things in the quran and hadith that us mere mortals dont understand and sometimes will never understand. ours is not to question why. our duty is to submit ourselves to Allah and accept everything that comes from Allah whether we understand it or not. Allah through his infinite wisdom has deemed that all who die upon rejecting Allah and the path after it is shown to them (may Allah save us) will abide in hell for eternity and this is the best way as deemed by Allah. work on his iman and love for Allah, His Rasool ![]() |

![]() Few points: - who has been nicer to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) than his uncle Abu Talib? He has been by his side all through his life, but did not accept Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) tells us that his uncle would be among the residents of jahannam. This clarifies that good deed alone is not sufficient for eternal salvation; they bring goodness in this world for the person, but does not leave anything for the hereafter - which is indeed the true life. - if a person believes in Allaah, then he must also believe in the Qur'an, and the Qur'an tells us of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and asks us to follow him. So if a person accepts Allaah, but does not accept Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), then they are basically rejecting Allaah's book and his commands; this is kufr/rejection, and thus the person does not remain Muslim. Wallaahu A'lam. ![]() |

As-Salaamu ‘alaykum wa-Rahmatullah
I had once listened to a talk by Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (Rahmatullah Alayh) and the respected Shaykh gave an excellent and beautiful analogy in regards to the Muslim who is weak in his faith, actions and character, and a Non-Muslim who is occupied in service to the creation and other good deeds. Hazrat Maulana (RA) explained something as follows : “We have money which is genuine and money which is counterfeit. If someone has a $100 note which is old, crumpled and even torn, but it is genuine, it will be valid for use. The government accepts such a note. If a person has a brand-new, clean, crisp, $100 note but it is counterfeit, the government will reject it. Similarly, the Muslim can be ‘torn and crumpled’ in his character and in regards to good deeds, but due to his Imaan, he is accepted in the Court of Allah Ta’ala. He will enter Jannat – even though it may be a delayed entry. The Non- Muslim can have the best of character and can be engaged in many good deeds, but he is like that counterfeit note, not worth anything (due his disbelief) – and will thus be rejected by Allah Ta’ala. He will not be accepted for Jannat. The non-Muslim commits “High Treason” with his Kufr or Shirk, and this exceeds all other crimes or limits of disobedience, for which there can be no bail or parole – i.e. from Jahannum.” Allah Ta’ala guide and save us all. • Imaan is not complete without Belief in the Prophet-hood of Muhammad (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa-Sallam). Don’t we testify with the words: “THERE IS NONE WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH AND MUHAMMAD IS HIS MESSENGER.” ? |

![]() From the tafsir of Qur'aan Made Easy and Ma'aariful Qur'aan: On the Day of Judgement, there will be two separate groups of people, believers and unbelievers, and their faces will be different. This verse describes the faces of the unbelievers. They will be downcast. The word khEshi'ah from the root word khusha' mean 'to humble, humiliate, cast down'. This is the meaning of casting oneself down before Allah in prayer. People who did not cast themselves down before Allah in this world, their faces on the Day of Judgement will bedowncast with humiliation and disgrace. The other conditions of the unbelievers are 'Amilah and Nasibah. The word 'Amilah from 'Amal means 'to work hard' and 'Amil or 'Amilah in Arabic is used for 'a person who works continuously, so as to become completely tired'. The word Nasibah is derived from nasab. This word also refers to 'one who toils unceasingly so as to become totally exhausted'. It seems that the latter two conditions of the unbelievers relate to this world, because Hereafter is not a realm in which one has to work to become so tired and exhausted. Therefore, Qurtubi and other commentators are of the view that the humbleness of their faces relates to the Hereafter, but their working hard and being exhausted refers to their work in this world. Given this interpretation, the sense is that many unbelievers exert themselves in their false rituals, and work hard in their presumed acts of worship in the world, as for instance the Hindu Yogis and many Christian monks do. They endure many difficulties in the devotional acts of worship sincerely in order to seek the good pleasure of Allah, but being on wrong and idolatrous ways, they are not acceptable to, or rewarded by, Allah. Thus their faces show signs of exhaustion in this world; and in the Hereafter they will show signs of disgrace and humiliation. Sayyiduna Hasan Basri ![]() ![]() on account of his religious exercises and great endeavors, his face was exhausted, his body was dry and his dressing was miserable. When Sayyiduna 'Umar & looked at him, he began to weep. People asked him about the cause of his weeping. He replied: "I pity the condition of this old man. This poor soul worked so hard and showed such readiness to lay down his life to achieve a particular purpose (that is, to gain the pleasure of Allah) but, alas! He could not achieve it. Then he recited the following verse: Many faces on that day will be looking down (disgraced because of embarrassment and fear). (Among these shall be) He who suffered affliction and who endured many difficulties (thinking that he was pleasing Allaah whereas his beliefs and actions did not conform with the injunctions of Allaah). Ghaashiyah: 2-3 |

Jazakallah for ur replies everyone
Now he uses the following verse to support ppl like mother Teresa etc "Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, ... whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve ." Quran 2:62 "Those who believe (in the Qur'an) those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures) and the Sabians and the Christians― any who believe in Allāh and the Last Day, and work righteousness―on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." Quran 5:69 |

Jazakallah for ur replies everyone ![]() as someone else has pointed out, tell your foolish friend to worry more about his status in the Hereafter than mother teresa's. If he's far from Deen he needs to pull his finger out before it's too late. Give him the example of those not prostrating before Allah SWT in this dunya who on the Day of Judgement will have iron from Jahannam inserted into their backs so as to prevent prostration on that Day. Does he want this for himself? Humiliation on the Day of Judgement? Tell him to get a grip on reality in this Mubarak month rather than worrying about someone else. If he still wants to carry on his excuse of not fulfilling Allah's commandments, leave him be. |

Are non-Muslims condemned to Hell even if they did good and seem to have been genuinely pious?
Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani Are non-Muslims condemned to Hell even if they did good and seem to have been genuinely pious? In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate May Allah's peace and blessings be upon His Messenger Muhammad, his folk, companions, and followers Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah, I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next. Please keep me in your duas. Allah Most High tells us in the Qur'an, "Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam will never have it accepted from him, and shall be of those who have truly failed in the next life." (Qur'an 3:85) This is conditioned by His words, "We do not punish until We send a Messenger." (Qur'an 17:15) Shaykh Adib Kallas, a leading Damascene scholar and theologian, put it very well: "We know that those who reject faith (man aba) are in Hell. It is not decisively established what exactly entails rejection of faith -- this is why the scholars of Sunni Islam differed. As for the details, we should concern ourselves with our own fate: Allah will ask us about ourselves, not about what He should do with others." Ultimately, if (a) the message of Islam reached someone; and (b) they rejected it, then the verses and hadiths about being eternally in Hell would apply. At the level of individuals, it is a major question as to what reaching and rejecting entail. This is why we cannot judge whether individual non-Muslims are in Hell -- or, for that matter, in Heaven. Rather, we consign their affair to Allah the Merciful and Just, while affirming the above. http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view_print.asp?ID=6498 |
