Default Can someone please explain this Hadith?
I would like to hear a knowledgable answer from a brother here on the forums. Please no slandering of the Shia, or calling them a deviant misguided sect. I'm sure there is a place in hell for that.

Sahih Bukhari:
Narrated Jabir bin Samura: I heard Muhammad saying, "There will be twelve Muslim rulers." He then said a sentence which I did not hear. My father said, "All of them (those rulers) will be from Quraish." [1]
Sahih Muslim :
Narrated Jabir bin Samura: I heard Muhammad saying, "The (Islamic) religion will continue until the Hour (day of resurrection), having twelve Caliphs for you, all of them will be from Quraysh."[2]
Sunan Abu Dawood :
The Prophet said: "This religion remains standing until there are twelve vicegerents over you, all of them agreeable to the nation, all of them from Quraysh." [3]
Sunan al-Tirmidhi :
The Prophet said: "There will be after me twelve Amir (Prince/Ruler), all of them from Quraysh." [4]
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal
Masrooq relates that someone asked Abdullah Ibn Masood, "O Abaa Abd al-Rahmaan, did you ask the Messenger of Allah how many caliphs will rule this nation?". Abdullah Ibn Masood replied, "Yes, we did ask the Messenger of Allah and he replied, "Twelve, like the number of chiefs (nuqabaa) of Bani Israel"" [5]

Just quickly before I go:

The prophet PBUH MADE SURE that the Caliphate must be with Quraysh as all Arabs agree on them, in Sahih muslim we read:

Book 020, Number 4474:
It has been narrated on the authority of Hammam b. Munabbih who said: This is one of the traditions narrated by Abu Huraira from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) who said: People are subservient to the Quraish: the Muslims among them being subservient to the Muslims among them, and the disbelievers among them being subservient to the disbelievers among them.

Book 020, Number 4475:
It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: People are the followers of Quraish in good as well as evil (i. e. in the customs of Islamic as well as pre-Islamic times).

Book 020, Number 4476:
It has been narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: The Caliphate will remain among the Quraish even if only two persons are left (on the earth),

Nothing to do with alulBayt or Bani hashim.

As for That Hadith:

Muslim Book 020, Number 4480:
It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) said something which I could not understand. I asked my father: What did he say? He said: He has said that all of them (twelve Caliphs) will be from the Quraish.

Muslim Book 020, Number 4481:
It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura that the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) said: This order will continue to be dominant until there have been twelve Caliphs. The narrator says: Then he said something which I could not understand, and I said to my father: What did he say? My father told me that he said that all of them (Caliphs) would be from the Quraish.

Muslim Book 020, Number 4482:
It has been reported on the authority of Jabir b. Samura who said: I went with my father to the Messenger of Allah (may peeace be upon him) and I heard him say: This religion would continue to remain powerful and dominant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then he added something which I couldn't catch on account of the noise of the people. I asked my father: What did he say? My father said: He has said that all of them will be from the Quraish.

Muslim Book 020, Number 4483:
It has been narrated on the authority of Amir b. Sa'd b. Abu Waqqas who said: I wrote (a letter) to Jabir b. Samura and sent it to him through my servant Nafi', asking him to inform me of something he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). He wrote to me (in reply): I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say on Friday evening, the day on which al-Aslami was stoned to death (for committing adultery): The Islamic religion will continue until the Hour has been established, or you have been ruled over by twelve Caliphs, all of them being from the Quraish. also heard him say: A small force of the Muslims will capture the white palace, the police of the Persian Emperor or his descendants. I also heard him say: Before the Day of Judgment there will appear (a number of) impostors. You are to guard against them. I also heard him say: When God grants wealth to any one of you, he should first spend it on himself and his family (and then give it in charity to the poor). I heard him (also) say: I will be your forerunner at the Cistern (expecting your arrival).

The Prophet said: "This religion remains standing until there are twelve vicegerents over you, all of them agreeable to the nation, all of them from Quraysh." [Sunan Abu Dawood]

In brief, he didn't mention them by name, he didn't say whether they are good or Bad, He just said The state of the religion will be good until the rule of twelve Caliphs Pass, and this is true, Islam as a religion was at its top state during the rule of the first Caliphs (not politically but religiously).

As for the version in Musnad Ahmad which you posted above: "O Abaa Abd al-Rahmaan, did you ask the Messenger of Allah how many caliphs will rule this nation?". Abdullah Ibn Masood replied, "Yes, we did ask the Messenger of Allah and he replied, "Twelve, like the number of chiefs (nuqabaa) of Bani Israel"

Here what is meant are the Caliphs who will rule according to the Prophetic Guidance, and not just any Caliph and it is stated in the Ahadith that not all Caliphs will rule justly and the scholars agreed that only twelve will rule according to the guidance and they only agreed on the first four, so you can't just come up with an entire religion you have to gather all related versions of the Hadith from all chains then compare those and then gather all related Ahadith and compare all of them together so let me increase you in knowledge:

Sahih Muslim 4.661: Abu Hazim said: Abu Huraira said: The Prophet said, “The Israelis used to be ruled and guided by prophets: Whenever a prophet died, another would take over his place. There will be no prophet after me, but there will be Caliphs who will increase in number.” The people asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! What do you order us (to do)?” He said, “Obey the one who will be given the pledge of allegiance first. Fulfil their (i.e. the Caliphs) rights, for Allah will ask them about (any shortcoming) in ruling those Allah has put under their guardianship.”

Safeena the servant of the Prophet PBUH narrated from him PBUH that he said: "Caliphate after me is thirty years then kingship", He stopped here: The Caliphate of Abu Bakr was two, Umar was ten, Uthman was twelve and Ali six.

source: Imam Ahmad said Sahih in Jami'i Bayan al 'Ilm 2/1169.

Sahih al-Bukhari: "We are the last but will be the foremost to enter Paradise." The Prophet added, "He who obeys me, obeys Allah, and he who disobeys me, disobeys Allah. He who obeys the Ameer, obeys me, and he who disobeys the Ameer, disobeys me. The Imam is like a shelter for whose safety the Muslims should fight and where they should seek protection. If the Imam orders people with righteousness and rules justly, then he will be rewarded for that, and if he does the opposite, he will be responsible for that."

^ and these are just three Ahadith and there are many others and they all explain eachother, so don't jump into matters that are beyond your knowledge and understanding and start with any deviant theories that don't hold weight.

@ OP:

Why are you using fake identity? Don't try to deceive others by using "Madhhab: Hanafi".

LOL yea right Mr.Taqqiyah you were an "Ex-Sunni" hehe, what kind of an ex-Sunni calls himself Abu Bakr and follows the Hanafi madhab? just say: "I am sorry I lied and did Taqqiyah by pretending that I am a sunni to deceive the readers." don't worry it's Ramadhan Allah might forgive you.

I thank the moderators for changing his Madhab from Hanafi to Shi'ite, this was the right decision.

Alhamdulillah. I've stopped a huge number of controversial threads and posts which could spoil the tranquility of Ramadhan.
