1) If I remember correctly I read on this forum and on Sunnipath that leaving the pubic hair grow beyond 40 days is considered permissible or at least NOT sinful according to the Maliki and Shafi'i madhhab - is this correct?

2) I am Hanafi but I would like to let my pubic hair grow for various reasons, is it permissible for me to follow the Maliki and/or Shafi'i madhhab on the issue of pubic hair in order to avoid being sinful (since the Hanafis consider growing pubic hair beyond 40 days as sinful)?

One of the reasons is definitely not Hygiene …….

Just kidding,,, as the bro above said. If you have Valid reasons put it before a seasoned Scholar of Islam and he will issue the Fatwa based on your circumstances. I

Also growing the pubic hair because you like it personally, can be a bad idea. Won't be appropriate for your marriage stuff, if you know what I mean...
