Aslaam walaikum, any advice on what book or two to get out of those? I already got Spectacle of death so would Rememberance of Death and Afterlife help?
Walaikum aslaam.

Assalamu 'Alaikum. If you're talking (or writting) about 'Sufism and Good Character', then yes, I have read it. It's a really good book. It was originally written by Imam Zafar Uthmani and then translated and commented on by Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf. Publishers: White Thread Press.

Assalamu Alaikum. I would cartainly have to agree with 'Love for Allah' by Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad. That totally intoduced the concept of 'tasawwuf' into my life. This increased my love for Allah ('azzawajal) by around (at least) 10 times! This book does 'exactly what it says on the tin'! Now I'm interested in tasawwuf and also understand the importance of it to be a true believer. This is what my soul was searching for. And as for 'Remembrance of Deah and Afterlife', I ordered it over a month ago on the recommendation of our beloved brother Yusuf over the internet but it still hasn't arrived yet! Who wrote 'Spectacles of Death'? Jazakallahu khair.

what I was wondering about specifically was whether these books are worth getting, The Inhabitants of Hell, Sufism and good character
Assalamu 'Alaikum. I don't know about the other books, but I can certainly recommend you 'Sufism and Good Character'. I think that is an excellent book. The shaykh who originally wrote that book was taught by Mufti Taqi Uthmani's grandad so it has to be good! Assalamu 'Alaikum.

Aslaam walaikum, what about the last two books I mentioned they any good? If I get Remeberance of death and the afterlife should I get Inhabitants of Hell seeing as I got spectacle of death already too? Are there any books that list all the major sins and poss minor sins and maybe some things you get rewarded for?
JazakAllah Khair.
Walaikum Aslaam.

as salamu alaykum

try 'the lives of man' by Imam al-Haddad.

much of it is based on the Ghazali text, but its shorter and more succint - and it does the job (it tells you to sort yourself out basically)...

superb.

Spectacle Of death is nothing like Imam Ghazali's masterpiece. It's a million times better. I found spectacle of death boring and dry, sorry [compared to Imam Ghazali's book].
