Sorry hazrat.. Bad bad bad experiences with spoons.
I think it depends more on how the khuddaam are.. some are nice.. whereas others may be strict.. I think its good that khuddaam surround a Shaykh and care for his comfort.. I attended a few friday sermons of Mufti Taqi Usmani and since Hazrat did not had any khuddaamz, he got immensely surrounded by the crowd.. all wanting to do a musahf-hah (shake hand) with shaykh.. though i usually dislike when any khuddaamz hinder me from meeting any shaykh but here i felt that it would have been good if Mufti sahib would have had khuddaam with him.. They would have not let this happen.. Then in the end. Mufti sahib had to repel the crowd by saying Takbeer to start Tahiyyat-ul-Masjid Salaah!

You don't need chamchas, the Sheikh can deal with people themselves.

Yes Alhamdulillah, but I usually don't meet them.
I just meet the ones I love
You should try. Talks and actions of Shaykh Hassan 'Ali Nadwi () comes to mind.

May I ask this in sincerity :

Why do some Shuyūkh have these Khuddām that are 'body-guards' or 'chamcha's then? Would it be wise to tell the Shaykh about their attitude in privacy? How to confront and avoid such fake khuddām?

جزاكم الله خيراً

Here is a question tho - If you have been blocked and denied by a chumcha or cheyla then what does that make you? They are at least mixing in with the curry - where are you on the maidah?

Hazrat RA had a blanket policy. He didn't meet anyone. He didn't pick and choose like meet the rich ones and kick out the poor guys.

Or meet the ones who are Baashara and kick out those who aren't.

The mureeds serving a sufi shaykh deserve respect. Nowadays , not many religious people are interested in Tasawwuf due to many reasons. On top of that , very few people want to spend fulll time in the company of a shaykh. So, if you see someone in the service of a shaykh, you should respect him due to your love for the shaykh.

Anyone serving your beloved should also get a degree of love and respect.
bro this is the problem, these guys do khidmat for this reason, to get thier names known in the circles, get your named mentioned in bayans etc..., trust me bro ive seen this happening all the time, one thing to remember the shaykh is the shaykh, FULL STOP.

some of these guys think that they are blessed because thier are in the company of the shaykh, bro there are many top and humble brothers that would love to be in the company of a shaykh, but they never get the oppurtunity, arent allowed to get close by the CHAMCHAS.

I was in hajj many years ago, i was in my youth, this one international shaykh invited me to his private gathering in thier hotel for a bayan, i was walking on my own to the room, as i approached the hotel this one molana looks at me and says what do you want, i said im going to see this shaykh and listen to the bayan, (he looked at me with them eyes like who are you) he said sorry brother but this is for invited guests only, but then the main khadim of the shaykh saw me and he took my hand and brought me inn, after that the guy couldnt look at me no more, then i become a MADE MAN...and the rest is history

I find it strange that people surrounding a Sheik stopping others from seeing him. I think they do not realize the mistake in it, they must be very eager to do good. May Allah guide them in the right path.

Well our beloved Rasoolullah the best of Men was always accessible . I ve never heard Abu Bakr or Umar Al Farooq or any other Sahabi stopping other Muslims to see our Beloved Rasoolullah .

i had the good fortune of personally meeting mufti rasheed ahmed saheb shaheed (ra). we used to see him everyday in salaat in the little time that i spent there. at the time he seemed a bit 'scary' lol. but when i met him he had a beautiful smile and made you feel welcome and that he was happy that you had come to meet him. i got the impression that if it wasnt for the chamchas or security threat then he would have been a lot more easily approachable and that he would have been happy about it.

In UK Ulama are actually served food separately and seated separately from common people most of the time.

And this is considered "Respect to Ulama"

Where there is one eating place a section of the area is reserved for them away from "common mortals like us"

You can observe this in 99% of Deobandi gatherings.

P.S: You NEVER see this amongst the Salafees...

Sheikh, did you ever see someone else meeting Hazrat?

There was a majlis every week after the Jumuah bayan inside. Mureeds were allowed there. Hazrat would talk to everyone himself, ask for details, etc.

I've spend alot of time with Hazrat. I haven't seen him meeting with anyone ever. His rules were same for everyone.

Once a guy gifted hazrat a very expensive watch and then said hazrat i'm going for Hajj or Umrah, please give me half an hour from your time. Hazrat said, sorry,i can only give you 5 mins as i give everyone else.

But yes, there were alot of guards.

Hazrat never gave bayt to anyone immediately, but Mujahids were taken into bayt immediately even in the first meeting

Talib e Ilms were also allowed to come to Hazrat's room.

The Khadim of Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel sahib is not a chamcha. He was with me from Zuhr till Asr. Was brainwashing him about ta'addud. At first he was like, hmm.. not interested. But by the end of the meeting, he was like, Yes you are right...

What can i talk to him about other than ta'addud. He's already a big buzurg himself.
