what age was ayesha radiyallahu anha at marriage?
 

salaam everyone

i met some brothers last night who have claimed that the age mentioned in bukhari is an error.

They used as evidence things like fatimah being 5 years older than ayesha, suratul qamr etc.

For those who know the arguements im talking about, if u know of any good scholarly article that breaks down these proofs and conclusively shows ayesha radiyallahu anha was 6 then that would be great inshallah as i dont like apologising for our deen.

At Nikah it was 6 and Rukhsati (when she left her parents house) was 9.

This is the established age.

Those who say so are mainly Hadith rejectors. We can discuss their claims if you bring them forth.

Hadith rejecters use weak Ahadith to counter Sahih Ahadith?

They come in two forms. The Quranists use historical documents to disprove the Hadiths regarding Sayyida Aisha radiallahuanha's age while the modernists use the criticism of Habib Ur Rehman Kandehlavi against such Hadiths.
