Attending the mosque being smelly
slaam!
sometimes i go for a jog (or come back from classes) all sweaty the problem is that jamath at the mosque is soon which only gives me time to go straight to the mosque, or sometimes go home for 5 mins and go to the mosque which does not give me time to freshen up some of the people understand i just come back from jogging or whatever i wanted to ask, is it a problem going to the mosque smelly? is this bad? would you just stay home and pray? or... |

Brother what in your language is "slaam"? It is a problem if you stink for your fellow muqtadis. If you had been praying in the good Colonel's mosque, then it would have been a bigger problem for you.http://discussworldissues.com/forums...cheesygrin.gif You can't stay at home and pray either. If you do, you will have to tie a dupatta on your head.http://discussworldissues.com/forums...s/icon_lol.gif Stop jogging, start thinking.http://discussworldissues.com/forums.../icon_razz.gif |
By the way, the title suggests that the name of the masjid is smelly. Whereas it is you who are smelly. So plz change it.

I m not sure about it, but it seems like it better to refrain from going to mosque if one has bad odour. It has been narrated that `Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) said in the sermon of Friday prayer: "O you people! You eat garlic and onion. I think the odour of these to be very offensive. I saw that if the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) happened to find a man with such offensive odour in the mosque, he would order him to be taken out of the mosque and sent to Al-Baqi`. He who wants to eat any of these, should cook them till their odour dies out." [Muslim]. Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) forbade eating of onions and leek. When we were overpowered by a desire (to eat) we ate them. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: "He who eats of this offensive plant must not approach our mosque, for the angels are harmed by the same things as men. " [Muslim Book 4, Number 1145] Allah knows best. |

Develop this habit of talking to Allah. My shaykh Arif-billah Hadhrat Dr Abdul-Hayy ‘Arifi (may Allah have mercy on him) told this to us repeatedly. Sit in solitude and contemplate that I am infront of Allah. Tell Him everything that is on your mind and bothering you. Your past mistakes, the present difficulties and future apprehensions . Tell Him in detail and ask for guidance and help. InshaAllah, in addition, to relieving your anxiety it will lead to the creation of a bond between you and your Lord, Allah (ta’luq ma Allah).” ashrafiya.com May Allah bring ease for you. |

The young man may not leave his jogging session, he may skip salah with jamaath. A similar experience. young boys wear T-shirts with slogans, they ask us, "can we come to the masjid with this dress", a tricky situation, if you send them back for change of dress, they may do it now, but on some other ocasion they may not turn up of salah. |

Maybe you can carry a deodorant with you brother. That should get rid of the odour, atleast for the Salah. |

This matter can be approached from a practical standpoint. If you are in classes, you have a bag, yes? Why not carry deodorant and cologne/ouadh, a fresh shirt or even a thobe in your bag? When its time for salah, arrive early, put on the fresh shirt and thobe, some deodorant and oudh, and make wudhu. Make sure you wear clean clothes to the masjid, rather than wearing the same shirt and pants two or three days per week. Most bad body odor is attached to clothing where bacteria multiple. A clean shirt will often do away with most of the odor. If a person is still smelly, deodorant and oudh should cover it. Also, some diets are notoriously smellier than others. Be conscious of your diet and the cleanliness of your clothing. May Allah forgive you and accept your good deeds. |

ITS NICE,, if you are going in front of Allah, you must be cleans, your body, and your cloths must be clean,, this is the condition for offering prayer.... and wadu...

Next time you go jogging and you know you will have to go to the Masjid right after, please take a small bottle of ittar or perfume with you. Apply it heavily before entering the Masjid. It's not nice to go smelling. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/jazak.gif |
