One day, Sheikh Sadi was walking in a street, he did not have any shoes and he was barefooted. He complained to Allah (swt). O Allah (swt), you did not give me shoes.
As he moved little forward, he saw a man without any legs. Sheikh Sadi soon realized that he was complaining Allah (swt) about shoes and this man was not even given legs. What if Allah (swt) has made him a handicapped like him, so he stopped complaining about shoes and thanked to Allah (swt) for giving him legs. Moral: We should always be thankful to Allah (swt) and not look at people who have been given more blessings than us but we should look at those people who have been given even lesser blessings than us. If you will look at people with greater blessings, you will be thankless to Allah (swt) and also you will live a life in depression, disappointment and your blood will boil. Consequently, you will live unhealthy life. And most disastrous thing is you will be away from the most beloved person Allah (swt) If you will look at the people with lesser blessings, you will be thankful to Allah (swt) and you will live a life in peace and your blood pressure will be cool. In short, you will live a healthy life. And most beautiful thing is that you will become closer to most beloved person Allah (swt). Hadith: Prophet (sws) said, Strange is the affair of the believer, verily all his affairs are good for him. If something pleasing befalls him he thanks Allah and it becomes better for him. And if something harmful befalls him he is patient and it becomes better for him.… And whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience. (Al-Bukhari) |
