I could not find his citation, possibly if you provide the chapter then I can look. However, I did find the following citation from Shaikh Al Akbar's Futuhaat e Makkiyah:

The slave has no limit set for his abdiyat, servitude, slavery, that he might cross the limit and develop into Rabb. Even so the Rabb has no stations of His own beyond which He turns into a slave. Hence, Rabb remains Rabb without end and Abd remains Abd without end." Chapter 27 in Futuhaat.

Also, Shaikh Al Akbar ra is known for this statement:

He says, "The abd will remain abd whatever the progress he might make, the Lord will remain the Lord however low He may descend."
