student loans are usually taken out to pay uni fees however knowing interest is haram chances are when the time comes to sort my uni stuff out (if allah wills) i wont be taking out a loan...as i have been told Allah wages war against someone who pays (or receives) interest i would like to ask if there have been many brothers (or sisters) who have not gone to uni because of loans, or even fitnah which can be involved with uni life so how could i approach such a situation (i could get a part time job and save up, but lets say this plan fails) so what to do? thanks! jazakallah |

![]() For me university was a very touchy issue.Especially when one parent was all for me going and the other was completely against it. I was hesitant, esp after spending 7 years at all girls schools. It's a very long story. In conclusion, I did not physically go to university for the two reasons you have written "because of loans, or even fitnah which can be involved with uni life" Instead i enrolled with the Open University, where one can study for a degree or course at home. Ofcourse there were costs involved but nowhere as expensive as having to commute daily to university or staying on a campus( i would never been allowed to stay anyway) and including the study costs. Alhamdulillah, i am in my second year and i am grateful to Allah for making it easy for me. |
