I just wanted to do mashwayrah, as to who do you think i should do bait with? Either Moulana ismail wadee, Blackburn or Sheikh Zulfiquar Ahmed from pakistan?

Which would be more beneficial for me, i have read few books on sheikh zulfiquar and found them to be very interesting, and effective...


p.s in the book (travelling across central asia) i read sheik zulfiquar said he gave spiritual attention to the audience, and it all had a big effect on them (i.e their hearts softened, hearts engaged in Allah) what does the term "spiritual attention" mean.


Where can i get more info of the formulas and other info of the naqshbandiah majadedi order?

Personal opinion DJ, go with Shaykh Ismaeel of Blackburn. Dont let his simple and soft spoken nature fool, you, the man is a giant in Tasawwuf.

If you're serious about it then you will go stay with each shaykh for a while and then make up your mind then. Asking random people on the internet isn't a good idea.

Anhero, its called mashwayrah, i wouldnt do that by staying with all sheikhs for while.. Everything should be done with hikmat,

i am simply taking opinions of the brothers and other sheikhs at the moment.

but he is very very old.

last time i saw him was 10 years ago and he was very very old then.

Moulana Ismail Wadi sahib is very ill- has been for about a year. Its probably best u look somewhere else to be able to take full benefit from a sheikh. He's also very old (87).

yes he is old, but his khalifah who i know quite well moulana yusuf ali told me i should do bait with him, thats what he said when i requested to bait with him..

would it be better with moulana ismail wadee sahib as he is close to my house, or sheikh zulfiquar (even though i cannot meet him as he is from pakistan, do you think i can still benefit a LOT even tohugh he is very far)??

There is always the spritual connection there but u may be deprived of the benefit gained from direct contact.

If you were to take bait with Shaikh Zulfiqar you would most likely be keeping in touch (relating detailed spiritual condition) with a khalifa of his for the most part - especially if one is just starting.

I am bait with Shaykh Zulfiqar, so you may ask more questions if you want.

Shaikh Zulfiqar resides in Pakistan, but he visits UAE, Zambia regularly. As well as going for Hajj regularly, and Umra too I think.

By detailed spiritual condition I mean telling the khalifa(authorized representative) one's spiritual ailments, spiritual experiences, or taking advise on matters.

If the khalifa (authorized representaive) of Shaykh Zulfiqar is local then you can talk to him face to face (or whatever he prefers), or thru email or phone.

I will give you an example. There are many students of Shaykh Zulfiqar in the US. Some of them relate their detailed spiritual condition to Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar (one of his khalifa'as in the US) (www.sacedlearning.org) via phone and email. When they get a chance they go and meet Shaykh Zulfiqar.

I have read those books of Shaykh Zulfiqar, yes they are good books mashaAllah.

their is no khalifa of sheikh zulfiquar where i live in England, UK. So do you think its better and more effective with moulana ismail wadee, from my town...
However, he is very old now and quite ill...

if your interested in naqsbandi then you may want to take a look at the naqshbandi owaisia order.

the shaikh is called moulana awan akram and they have twice daily online zikr sessions as well as weekly local majlis and monthly regional majlis.

i have some very close friends who are bait to this sahikh and according to them they have benefited a lot. naqsbandi owaisia have a khanqah in chakwal, pakistan that anyone can visit and spend time there and they also have annual gatherings there.

they are a very active order.

i am not recommending him in anyway. just providing some info in case you may went to look into it further.

one advice i can give you from my time with a shaikh, before giving the bait spend some time with the shaikh, i dont mean going to the majlis a couple of times a week but interacting with him on a number of levels and observing his daily life in deen and dunya over a considerable period of time. also if you do happen to get bait to a shaikh then remember that he is not infallible and safe from corruption. if you see any gross misconduct on the side of the shaikh then do not get blinded by your relationship with him and do not turn a blind eye.
