is it "Amir" as in the actor amir khan

is it ameer as in leader

or is it amar as in the sahabi?

Bro, name will not bring anyone in Jannah or make beloved person to Allah. Its your belief which will bring you and me in Jannah. Its not even necessary to change a name. All the sahabi kept their old name which was in arabic after their convert too.But we keep our name as sahaba(rd) name because of their Iman and actions which made them so respected among the muslims.

i don't think it is a long name, arabs have much longer names.

No, those most are their family name(like adding father name, grand father name) and not necessarily their own name. Most of the time they are known with the name of their father , and not their owns!

Brother....one thing is that i kept the names not in account of any Pakistani crickets or anybody....!!
i kept the names to show gratitude to sohail bhai....who was there with me and helped me all the time....in future if somebody calls me he should remind me sohail bhai...so i kept the name...!!!!
