![]() The whole "Lost Tribe of Israel" thing is basically a legend. We have another legend that states that we are half Arab, being related to Khalid bin Walid ![]() Allah ![]() Not only that, but foreigners are occasionally integrated into many cultures, and very few are as "pure" as they like to claim. |

![]() Point one to have well clear in mind is that there are no "pure races": intermixing has almost always been the norm and today's "nations" are more the result of massive intermixing of different populations rather than the descendents of a "pure" one. Said this, you can find Sayyids all over the Muslim world (and with the most different physical-somatic tracts) and I don't see anything strange in it: the progeny of Sayyidina Muhammad ![]() In this way, sooner or later pure Arab-Qurayshi Sayyids mixed with other people, marrying their women, and with the time (and keeping marrying the women of the place) they have lost their distinctive physical characteristics for those of the people among whom their progenitors integrated themselves. And now you will find black-African / Malesian / Afghan / Uzbek looking Sayyids... Only the Arab suprematism of certain Sub-Continental Ahl-e-Hadith affected by inferiority complex will find problem with such simple logic and pretend every Sayyid in the world to be a "pure Arab", denouncing as "fake" any other "non-Arab looking" claimant to the "tytle". |

![]() The theory of Pathans beings descendants of a Sahabi is itself a legend which was recently invented. The history of Pashtuns can be traced back to at least 1100 BC so pashtuns existed long before Islam. But we have to differentiate between ethnic Pashtuns and Pashto speakers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_...rom_Israelites |

I am a Pathan but this Bani Israel thing is new to me....never heard of it before ------------------------------ http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...1/10/20/MN.DTL The Pathans, who are also called Pashtuns, were said to wear cloaks decorated with a symbol that closely resembled the lamps lit by Jews at Hanukkah. The traveler also reported that they donned prayer shawls similar to those of their Jewish counterparts in the West, insisted that men grow side curls, and lit votive candles on Friday evenings, the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath. Some anthropologists have also found Pathan families that circumcise sons on the eighth day after their birth, in keeping with Jewish custom. --------------------------------- |

Have you seen the traditions mentioned in the following article among the old Pathans ? ![]() Think about this bro- if the pathans were originally a tribe from Bani Israel, and then converted to Islam en masse, then why would they keep Jewish traditions? You think the scholars wouldn't have said something? You think the Amir and the judges wouldn't have had something to say about people imitating the kuffar? As far as I am aware, the land of the pathans must have once been ruled by Sharia which gets rid of these practices from amongst the Muslims and its highly unlikely they would have reverted to Jewish customs instead of Buddhist or Hindu customs, if they were to do 'the culture thing' at all ![]() |
