How to spend Free-Time ?
http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/salam.gif
The blessings of free-time and the advantages of it have been explained to us by the Prophet http://discussworldissues.com/forums...ilies/pbuh.gif. The problem for me, however, is I'm really finding it hard to figure out what i can do in my free-time. (by Free-time i mean the time other than time for the 5 Prayers, and Morning and Evening Quran & Adkhar reading) I have tried a few methods i.e. trying to pray nafl prayers, listening to lectures, reading a book, surfing on internet for beneficial information, and a few other things, all of which have worked on certain days and sometimes for a few hours but not really consistently. I have regularly monitored my daily habits using a Calender method explained and shown in the Youtube Video here. While some days i've been extremely focused on other days it all goes. I have so much distractions around me that I eventually fall prey to them and start regretting how i spent my time. Could anyone either suggest alternative ways i could spend my time apart from the methods i've listed above, and/or share how you spend your day ? Or possibly paste some words of inspiration to help get more valuable things achieved in the beneficial time we have. |
As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu
Very important intention. I can say what i do? I need to know total count of Darkness mentioned in Quran, Total count of Obey mentioned in Quran, Is there any mention of Muslim in Quran? I used to spent time by searching this types of words in Free time in Quran & hadith. It helps me to give proper reference when is needed. Salam |

Brother its natural to feel that way, there will be days where you will be focused and there will be days when everything is scattered. If the latter is not present then how will you appreciate the former? So what ever you are doing whether it be books, listening to lectures etc, its all worth it. I did check the video in the link you provided, I think its a fantastic idea because your progress is measurable and visible over a long period of time.. thanks. |
Try finding a job or something

Devote a portion of your everyday free time for sports/excercise. It helps freshen your brain and relax your heart.

I would suggest just do a google search of the area you live in for volunteering opportunities and then scan through. There's literally hundreds available, maybe you have an education and can help inspire kids who are from ****py backgrounds to take the route you did, or maybe you have a sport that you enjoy that you can help kids whatever, there will definitely be something you will like doing. I initially tried to sign up to lots but then found I just didn't have the time so now only commit a few hours every week. Even just 3 hours on a Sunday can make a big difference. |
serve your parents. or even just sit with them and talk to them.

After doing that i used to keep myself busy serving my family and when it was the time for prayer i would go for it. I took help from fllowing Hadith for my answer http://discussworldissues.com/forums...nnah_smile.gif Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 11 :: Hadith 654 Narrated Al-Aswad: That he asked 'Aisha "What did the Prophet use to do in his house?" She replied, "He used to keep himself busy serving his family and when it was the time for prayer he would go for it." Salam |

I started going gym, swimming pool, cycling, etc.
When I do one of the above for an hour a day, I'm to tired to think about doing anything bad, sinful. And I feel very good. It's very good, especially if you spend a lot o time with computer, office, education, etc. I study uni as well as do the Aalim course, I need break from books sometimes - it's very helpful. |
