Assalamu Alaikum everyone.

I am new to this forum and have been reading the posts for a while and I realized what great personalities are coming together in this site giving their priceless opinions. As so, I thought that I would also seek the advice of all of you

I wanted to know that from all the books that you've read in Arabic or Urdu, which books do you think would be most beneficial for the average English speaking muslim who only knows English, and should be translated as soon as possible.

In my opinion, these books are very important, they are in Arabic and Urdu so far,

1) Hujjatullah al baligha by Shah Waliullah Dehlvi Rahmatullah Alaih
2) Tareekh ibn Khaldun with muqaddamah by Ibn Khaldun Rahmatullah Alaih
3) Al bidayah wan nihaya by Ibn Kathir Rahmatullah Alaih
4) Qasasul Awliya - translated in urdu by Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi Rahmatullah Alaih

And lastly
5) Any books on biographies of great female personalities in Islam - this is very important because the muslim women are lacking in confidence in their roles as muslims

اعرف معنى السعادة



السعادة : شئ معنوى لا يري بالعين ، ولا يقاس بالكم ، لا تحتويه الخزائن ، ولا يشتري بالدينار أو الدولار
السعادة : شئ يشعر به الانسان بين جوانحه .... صفاء نفس ، وطمأنينة قلب ، وإنشراح صدر ، وراحة ضمير
السعادة : شئ ينبع من داخل الانسان ولا يستورد من خارجه
السعادة : بذل وتضحية وعطاء
السعادة : سرور داخلى عندما نقوم بعمل نبيل
مدد إلهى يضفي على النفس بهجة وأريحية
السعادة : هبة ربانية ، ومنحة إلهية يهبها الله من يشاء من عباده جزاء لهم على أعمال جليلة قاموا بها
السعادة : شعور عميق بالرضا والقناعة
السعادة : ليست سلعة معروضة فى الأسواق تباع وتشتري ، فيشتريها الأغنياء ، ويحرمها الفقراء .... ولكنها سلعة ربانية تبذل فيها النفوس والمهج لتحصيلها والظفر بها
السعادة : راحة نفسية
السعادة : فى أن تدخل السرور على قلوب الآخرين ، وترسم البسمة على وجوههم ، وتشعر بالارتياح عند تقديم العون لهم ، وتستمتع باللذة عند الإحسان إليهم
السعادة : فى تعديل الفكر السلبي إلى فكر إيجابي مثمر
السعادة : فى حسن تربية الأبناء وتنشئتهم على مايحب الله ورسوله
السعادة : فى العلم النافع والعمل الصالح
السعادة : فى ترك الغل والحسد والحقد والبغضاء وترك النظر إلى ما فى أيدي الآخرين
السعادة : فى ذكر الله وشكره وحسن عبادته
السعادة : فى الفوز بالجنة والنجاة من النار ، والتمـــتع بالنظر إلى وجه الله الكريم
{ وٌجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضـِرَةٌ (22) إلَى ربّــِهاَ نَاظِرَةٌ}




لا تحزن : لان القضاء مفروغ منه و المقدور واقع و الاقلام جفت و الصحف طويت و كل أمر مستقر فحزنك لا يقدم فى الواقع شيئا و لا يؤخر و لا يزيد و لا ينقص .
لا تحزن : لانك بحزنك تريد ايقاف الزمن و حبس الشمس و إعادة عقارب الساعة و المشى الى الخلف و رد الماء الى مصبه .
لا تحزن : لان الحزن كالريح الهوجاء تفسد الهواء و تبعثر الماء و تغير السماء و تكسر الورود اليانعة فى الحديقة الغناء .
لا تحزن : لان ال محزون كنهر الاحمق ينحدر من البحر و يصب فى البحر و كالتى نقضت غزلها من بعد قوة انكاثا و الكنافخ فى قربة مثقوبة و الكاتب بإصبعة على الماء .
لا تحزن :فان عمرك الحقيقي سعادتك و راحة بالك فلا تنفق ايامك فى الحزن و تبذر لياليك فى الهم و توزع ساعاتك على الغموم و لا تسرف فى اضاعة حياتك فإن الله لا يحب المسرفين
لا تحزن : فإن أموالك التى فى خزانتك و قصورك الساقمة و بساتينك الخضراء مع الحزن و الاسى و اليأس : زيادة فى أسفك و همك و غمك .
لا تحزن : فإن عقاقير الاطباء و دواء الصيادلة ووصفة الحكيملا تسعدك و قد أسكنت الحزن قلبك و فرشت له عينك و بسطت له جوانحك و ألحفته جلدك .
لا تحزن : و أنت تملك الدعاء و تجيد الانطراح على عتبات الربوبية و تحسن المسكنه على ابواب ملك الملوك و معك الثلث الاخير من الليل و لديك ساعة تمريغ الجبين فى السجود .
لا تحزن : فأن الله خلق لك الارض و ما فيها و أنبت لك حدائق ذات بهجة و بساتين فيها من كل زوج بهيج و نخلا باسقات لها طلع نضيد و نجوما لامعات و خمائل و جداول و لكنك تحزن !!!
لا تحزن : فإنك تشرب الماء الزلال و تستنشق الهواء الطلقو تمشى على قدمك معافى و تنام ليلك أمنا .
لا تحزن : لان الحزن يضعفك فى العبادة و يعطلك عن الجهاد و يورثك الاحباط و يدعوك الى سوء الظن و يوقعك فى التشاؤم .
لا تحزن : فإن الحزن و القلق أساس الامراض النفسية و مصدر الالام العصبية و مادة الانهيار و الوسواس و الاضطراب .
لا تحزن : و معك القرأن و الذكر و الدعء و الصلاة و الصدقة و فعل المعروف و العمل النافع المثمر .
لا تحزن : و لا تستسلم للحزن عن طريق الفراغ و العطالة....... صلى , سبح , اقرأ , اكتب , اعمل , استقبل , تأمل .
لا تحزن : لان الحزن يزعجك عن الماضى و يخوفك من المستقبل و يذهب عليك يومك .
لا تحزن : لا تحزن لان الحزن ينقبض له القلب و تنطفىء منه الروح و يتلاشى معه الامل .
لا تحزن : لان الحزن يسر العدو و يغيظ الصديق و يشمت بك الحاسد و يغير عليك الحقائق .
لا تحزن : لا تحزن لان الحزن مخاصمة للقضاء و تبرم بالمحتوم و خروج على الانس و نقمة على النعمة .
لا تحزن : لان الحزن لا يرد مفقودا و ذاهبا و لا يبعث ميتا و لا يرد قدرا و لا يجلب نفعا .
لا تحزن : فالحزن من الشيطان و الحزن يأس جاثم و فقر حاضر و قنوط دائم و إحباط محقق و فشل ذريع ......

I don't know how to translate that to english, i'm not good at translating, just reading, but I would love if someone did, its very useful and a great read..

I heard that Mufti A H Elias is translating into English Mufti Saeed Palanpuri's commentary of Hujjatullahil Baligha which is called Rahmatullahil Wasiah.

This is good news, I've always wanted this book in english.

I think that the English speaking world is in dire need of an English translation of a Fataawa work that is based solely on Shafi Fiqh. One from the classical era of Islam and a contemporary one (from 1920 onwards).

Just like the Hanafis have all Mufti Taqis works in English and Fataawa Rahimiyya and many others our Shafi brethren need the same.

I think that the English speaking world is in dire need of an English translation of a Fataawa work that is based solely on Shafi Fiqh. One from the classical era of Islam and a contemporary one (from 1920 onwards).

Just like the Hanafis have all Mufti Taqis works in English and Fataawa Rahimiyya and many others our Shafi brethren need the same.

Imam Nawawi's majmu` would be great. The problem though is with people trying to walk before knowing how to crawl. Also, the only translation of Minhaj at-Talibeen I've found is Arabic to French then to English; perhaps a straight translation would be good as well.

I would personally like to see brothers step up and create a Shafi`i fiqh youtube channel similar to the way the Hanafi brothers have.

Mawlana Muhammad Akram Nadwi of Jaunpur has written a book on female scholars in Islam which is priceless.
