My niyyah is to become a doc to spread islam and to help the people esp. Muslim women. It would be an act of wisdom if you please consult a scholar well-versed in both Fiqah and Tasawwuf. |

The lesser of the evils. One may keep quite if one does not live in Africa and hence understand the dynamics here. Yes, Islam is for the whole world. You need to connect the mind to the heart. There are a lot of examples and incidents prior and Post our Prophet(SAW) that will define this. For example why Allah brought the banning of alcohol later. Think about this.. Allah may use any thing...yes thing ... for his deen if you are not "available". Moulana Ilyas who started the movement of Tabligh could not speak well, yet look at his followers now... The indian subcontinent people do not really have an understanding of Arabic and the same people go out in tableegh... They use a kitaab which is very controversial but not haraam!... and list goes on and on.... We are not living in a perfect world brother ,BUT I UNDERSTAND your sentiments that you have to make it perfect... InshaAllah... one day.... |

Get a copy of the Ihya and go through the last half of the book, read and implement and I assure you, you will reach a Hal with Allah

Yes, the bukhari jalsa was really, absolutely great! Loved the jamiah tarana/anthem...and mawlana fadhlurahman sbs bayaan..
But, frankly speaking, its caused even more restlessness in my heart..imagine what honour the graduants got today..the aalim who spent 10years,all of them spending 6 whole years! I haven't even given a year for allah's deen! The feeling is coming..and its magnitude is great...this is honour plus yesterday mlna fadhlurahman talked of the mother from america making her 6 yr old hafidh... I think honour lies in deen....so rather sacrifice my energy,intelligence and time on deen than on dunya..then again..i go to the other side...this matter is eating me up! I have to seriously talk to someone but don't know who..my dad is either at the office or the masjid and no courage to talk..one side mawlana Yunus is telling me to stop..the other side, there's family support..dont know where to go what to do...ya allah...allahumajburni.. |

You poor soul you... I know exactly what you are going through... When I was in the UK and waiting for the sun to come out ... or something that seriuos... I would record myself talk about the problems to myself and listen and listen and listen... It would bring solace to my heart... then read the quran again and again... Please listen to this 45 minute dua and cry a bit InshaAllah Allah will give you some peace... http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44105 Please I beg you not to give up coz the deen of Allah is screaming for people like you... you need to inspire those who come after you to take up the challenges you have faced and when you finally retire you can look back and have a sense of ellation at your achievements... when you complete what you are doing you need to start a training program for widwives and pass on your knowledge.. I swear by Allah(Allah's Qasam) this is 100% deeni work... and I would be very sad if you dropped out or stopped... please please continue what you are doing... May Allah give you the strength and the inspiration to continue... Aameen... I will make special dua for you. |

Well sister..the TIME to make a decision is NOW while your'e still young...take the advices of elders and scolars of deen, for they genuinely worry for your akhirah..
Sukoon, itminaan and chen is found only in deen and nothing else... |

Just remember,for Alimahs,the scope after getting your sanad is somewhat limited as against that of a man. A man can take up imamat,lecture etc. A Alimah,at most will teach in a maktab which is of course very rewarding,or maybe teach elder ladies. Are you bay't to Shaykh Yunus? Is he giving his opinion or is he making a decision? you need to talk to your parents,regardless of difficult it is. make time as this is a life changing decision. Is it not possible for you to do your alimah course after your medicine course? Just imagine the tremendous source of good you could do if you became a doctor and was a practising Muslimah. The would be a great source of goodness for the Msulim women in your area. We need Muslim female doctors,dentists etc. Nabi  did not say leave yor trade or farming but showed how one can incultate deen in ones profession and thus please Allah and it could also be a great form of dawah.There is a group of companions*i think* who went on a journey. They used to buy and sell goods in equal measure and did not try to rip people off. the locals saw this,and because of their pure business dealings,came into the fold of Islam. How many females here wish they could see a female Muslim doctor or female Muslim dentist etc? So we complain when they aren't any yet also block the route for some to come into existence. religeous Muslims are the first to want these female services yet we ourselves are blocking the route. very interesting posts though by some people on here.................. |

If you are already bayah to a genuine shaykh of Tasawwuf, you should obey him in order to make progress in the spiritual path. Of course, this is if you are bay'ah and have explained to him your entire situation and he told you what to do. It doesn't apply if you just heard in a bayaan some general advice. For example, with the intention you have, and given that you are in niqaab, and supposing you don't live at uni, but just commute for classes and then come directly home, then you might get different advice. Also, maybe Maulana Yunus would give different advice if you married first? Or if it could somehow be arranged for a mahram to sit in with you during classes. |

sister, ur heart is trying to tell you something! pls re-consider your options. i have been studying for 5years now and will graduate this year. from experience i am telling you, please for the sake of your well-being, stop uni and re-enter into madrassa. the means of u becoming a doctor is haram and this will result in barakah exiting ur life forever. i was in the same position as u having lived 22 years of life in Lusaka. many ppl suggested to me to stop studying but i was stubborn and wallah am feeling the "athaab" now. my fiance broke off the marriage and my heart has been totally restless for a loong time..i saw ur post and joined sunniforum only and ONLY to post this message to u sister. pls trust me as i have gone thru his..stop studies ASAP and join sabiha apas or jamia zainab. u will never ever regret it. i had a friend who wanted to study as well bt was declined by her dad. today, mashalah, she has 2 kids and is living a very happy islamic life..may the lord almighty bless u sister, and pls consider my advice, for it is coming from the heart.
