Sheikh Yunus sahib said on one occasion, that a dakoo (multiple meanings in local slang and in urdu) was crying and seeking repentance for his sins, Maulana Umar Palanpoori Sahib went close to this dakoo and said that Allah's rahmat will fall on this person and a drop will fall on me also. Maulana Umar sahib then sat close to him.

I don't know about his father, but his mother was very pious.

Yeah, eventually his father repented later on in his life. Wallahu 'Alam. Anyone can confirm?
