What i now wanna say is that i'm not talkin about the mahdi that the shias believe in.
(they believe that he is in caves..etc)
But today, in an islamic channel, the news was on. A boy, aged 7 was being interviewed.
When he was there the scholars(who were present with the boy) suddenly had a ''random'' feeling that the boy is mahdi because of some descriptions he had which matched the description of the real mahdi.
They were quite ....shocked and they started asking him questions.
they asked him for his name and he said it was ''Muhammad Al Ameen'' (he's an arab)
the boy was really innocent and he's a hafiz.
they tested him on the qur'aan...and they said out an ayah and he finished it off.
they asked him what surah the ayah is in and he answered successfully.
they asked him the ayah number and he got it right.
they asked him the PAGE number...and he thought for a while..and after a few seconds he answered correctly.
the scholars were surprised and now they r gonna check if he is from the ahlul bayt.

Its highly unlikely, even the night before he becomes aware that he is the Mahdi he doesnt know hes the Mahdi. Revealing his identity at such a tender age would put him in severe danger.

I remember a similar case of a boy in africa some years ago (in the mid nineties). Similar claims were made, how ulama tested him and were amazed at the knowledge of this 7 year old etc. Later I believe it was exposed that the whole thing was faked. You will even find youtube videos of him giving bayans etc. When I watched one video I saw indications in his talk that he was told what to say. It was the way he worded some things and one point even let it slip that his father told him to mention a certain thing (despite his parents having been christians lol).

Personally, I have learnt to take such things with a pinch of salt. Had this truly been the case, i'm sure it would have spread amongst the community of ulama around the world and would have become big news. If it hasn't, then it's usually a bad sign. I wouldn't trust such things until it is verified by ulama we know are reliable and trustworthy.

Please check the wordings of the hadith again. The Prophet(saws) replied "Yes" to whether a believer could be a coward and a liar and "No" to whether he could be a miser. Perhaps one of the 'Ulama on the forum can help.

I dont think he meant to accuse you of setting this up. The television channels or so called 'scholars' cannot be trusted nowadays, it is possible if they made some kind of a set up.

Btw Mahdi is supposed to come after Dajjal right?

And I highly doubt the mahdi will come on TV, with a load of scholars claiming him to be mahdi.

Let's not forget that according to ahadith, the Mahdi would be recognized by the ulama in the Haram shareef. So these claims already sound dubious.
