A few months ago while on the net i dont know how but i stumbled upon Maulana Yunus Patel's website. I downloaded and read all his books and then listened to some of his bayans which were on tasawwuf. His books and bayans which were in english and urdu and in the end the way he made duas, i had never been so impacted. I immediately had this deep deep desire to meet him. So on this forum i searched about him and found quite a number of threads on him. So you can imagine my haal when i read that he had passed away exactly 1 year before i found him. I cant express my emotions. I used to listen to maulana tariq jameel's bayaans earlier. But when i heard hazrat's bayan and duas i was immediately drawn towards him.
I am bayat with a very pious allahwallah here in my homeplace and i respect him a lot and i am faithful to my shaikh but my heart yearns to meet hazrat. Some people here on SF are so blessed to have met hazrat. |

It was really one of my saddest days when I learned he had passed away, even though I had only listened to few of his lectures online. I was down for a few days, and regret was overpowering me that I never got to meet him in my lifetime. I could not explain why i felt such strongly about him passing away, as I knew little of him. But it's like as you said, there was something special about his bayans and duas. Wallaahu A'lam. ![]() |

When Hazrat passed away, it was as if the lights had been turned off. It was partially cloudy that night in Durban; almost as if the sky couldn't decide whether to cry over Hazrat's passing or celebrate his passing away in Makkah.
It took about 3 months before I could listen to his talks without feeling like a knife was stabbing me. Even now the hearts ache and tears fill the eyes when he is spoken of in gatherings, formal or informal. He was a rose, the perfume of which is spread far and wide. A simple yet powerful prescription Hazrat would give: "Do for Allah Ta'aala's pleasure and He will give from His Treasures" |

![]() It's very clear that this Great Shaykh and 'Aashiq had a unique acceptance in the sight of Allah in making Islah of the Ummah. There are countless people I have heard from, scholars, Mashayikh and awaam that all wept at his departure, whether they had met him or heard his bayans or even never heard any of his bayans but just learnt of his death. It is very strange. Even those who were not formally connected to him were deeply affected. Only Allah knows what his Maqam is. In fact, it's clear that their rank is increasing, as many of his ta'leemat are always spreading far and wide. How great is it that even his death was a resounding wake up call for the Ummah that it is still being felt over a year later. |
