Default Any brothers/sisters here from, or have ties to Jhelum, Pakistan?

Hope you are all in the best of health - Ameen

I am hoping to gather more information about a particular 'Haq Chaar Yaar movement’, which if I am correct started in Jhelum, and uses the below flag, as their 'logo', and also gather more bayaans by some specific Ulema, which I will go in detail about, later

What I already know (which may or may not be 100% correct!)
This particular 'movement' idea grew from the opening of the Jamia Hanfia Madrassa (also known as the Gumbad Wali Masjid), in Jhelum by Qazi Muhammed Abdul Lateef (Late)(of Jhelum), alongside Qazi Mazhar Hussain (Late) (of Chakwal) & Molana Allah Huda Yaar (Late) (of Jhelum). From what I have gathered it, it was started to counter the growing popularity of the Shia faith in Pakistan, in the early ‘70s/80’s, especially their practices of abusing the Khulaf-e-Rashdeen, the companions of our beloved Nabi , and the Ummu l-Mu'minin (RA).

It is strictly an educational movement, and has NO TIES to any violent activity within Pakistan & does not promote violence, to the best of my knowledge - Allah (SWT) knows best.

SF members from Jhelum will know more about the movement or at least more about the mosque. Any information, to the daily running of the madrassa, the history, active Ulema etc would be greatly appreciated. I also want to increase my library of bayaans by any of the above mentioned Ulema, and in particular I would really appreciate it, if someone can point me in the right direction to where I can download/purchase bayaans by Qazi Muhammed Lateef's son, Qari Khobaib Ahmed Umer (also known as Qari Khobaib).

, I had the pleasure of meeting Qari Khobaib Ahmed Umer , but Qari Khobaib passed away in Birmingham in February 2009, whilst visiting the UK on dawah/fundraising activities. At the namaz-e-janaz of Qari Khobaib saab, I was told that they were overseeing the running of the Gumbad Wali Masjid, as well over 30 other madrassas.

To those brother & sisters who are from Jhelum, or have ties to the Madrassa, please make yourself known, as you may be able to assist me in future queries, if not immediately, . Ultimately, the aim is to preserve the bayaan of these elders, and make them available online for other brothers & sisters.

Your assistance here will become sadaqah jariyah for yourself & me, .

Some further information.

May Allah (SWT) bless them for their work in defending the Khulaf-e-Rashdeen (RA), the companions of our beloved Nabi , Ummu l-Mu’minin (RA) & educating others. Ameen.

Assalam o 'alaykum,

Qazi Mazhar Husayn was a student and a khalifah of Mawlana Husayn Ahmad Madani. Here you can read Ilmi Muhasbah by him.

Mawlana Sa'id Ahmad Jalalpuri Shahid used to say that if Mawlana Sarfaraz Khan Safdar and Qadi Mazhar Husayn agree on something, then that is also my 'aqidah.

, Brother/respected elder, Saad.

I'm at work at the moment, and therefore unable to open the links in full, due to filters. I will have a look at them later, .

Are you from Pakistan/India, other?

Please note that I cannot read Urdu, although I can understand it pretty well. As the 'mini' project gathers somes momentum, I should have some brothers who are fluent in Urdu, assisting me,

May Allah (SWT) keep you in the khidmet of others, for Islam, Ameen.

gumbad wali masjid is not jamia hanfia its a branch and its in the bazaar. jamia hanfia is in madani mahallah. Qari sahibs name is Qari Hubaid Ahmad Umar. Qari Hubaibs son Maulana AbuBakr is in charge of the madrassah at the moment.
gumbad wali masjid was originally shia, until Maulana Jhelumi and some of his students took it over. therefore every year on 10 muharram the jamia students be inside during the shia juloos, only as a precaution.

Firstly, for replying and if you don’t mind me asking, are you from Jhelum?/What ties do you have to the Madrassa?

In terms of Jamia Hanfia Madrassa & Gumbad Wali Masjid not being the same madrassa, did you mean that the mosque that is referred to as the Gumbad Wali Masjid, is situated in Madani Bazaar, and the madrassa is on a different site?

I will need to again clarify the exact name of Qazi Muhammed Abdul Lateef’s (Late) son’s name, because I have always known him as Qari Mohammed Hubaib Umer Ahmed, but thank you for pointing this out – With all due respect to you, I will amend my opening post, once this has been confirmed, by my local source.

I am also aware that Molana Abubaker (Qazi Lateef’s grandson), is dealing with the day to day running of Jamia Hanfia, as he took the responsibility after his father passed away, in Birmingham, UK. I was at the janaza in Nottingham, as it was held at Jamia Al-Hudaa , which I have been informed is a girls primary school, run & managed by Qari Hubaib’s son-in-law.

Time permitting; I have planned to contact them, in the near future, via letter to help me move the project along, once I have clarified the right people, names & the information I require.

Its news to me that Gumbad Wali Masjid was originally Shia owned & managed & that Qazi Lateef took it over. If this is true, & wholly accurate, I am really surprised that no one has ever mentioned this to me, or that I have never come across this information before

In regards to Jamia students protecting their mosques during the Shia’s jaloos in Muharram, then brother I already knew about this, and that there is a lot of tension between the Sunni & Shias at this time. Past years have told me that the Shias hold their jaloos right outside the mosque door, where they chant their slogans & send lanat upon Hazrat Abubaker, Umer, Usman & Mahviya (RA)?
How bad is the situation there from you experiences?

I have heard a lot of other things that happen during Muharram to the mosque & madrassa, but once I know how you know this information/are connected to the Madrassa, I will share this with you.

for replying, and I really hope that I’ll see you on this thread again. I pray that Allah , grants you good in your life for sharing this information. Ameen

In my opinion;

SSP are a lot more political (and rightly so)

HCY is more educational, if you like, and I’m trying to find out more about its roots, purpose, aim, the founders etc. There is not that much English literature available on this particular HCY movement, but it's a good cause, which I believe is an alternative to SSP, although I have full respect & love for SSP, its founders and bearers.

May Allah protect those, who strive to protect the companions of Hazrat Muhammed

First of all, you write the name as Khobaib , not Hubaib, i.e., قاری خبیب احمد عمر
and thanks. It is very kind of you for starting this nice thread so we can know about these Ulamas and their work.

Muslim-man, for your input. Could you also elaborate as to how you have come to know of these Ulema?

And the full name of Qazi Lateef's son is Qari Khobaib Ahmed Umer?

Do dua, that Allah makes me a better muslim & that the bayaans of these great Ulema are gathered & made available for brothers & sisters around the world.

well, I listened to them at saalaana jalsa in Jehlum a few times back in 1980s. This will be great work on your part to publise these ulamas' work on net.
may Allah give you strength to do this task.

I confirmed the 'takeover' with an old saathi of Qazi Muhammed Abdul Lateef & their son, Qari Khobaib Ahmed Umer, who resides in Birmingham, UK.

It's definitely something I will look into,

for your assistance Nutty Professor, and I hope to see you back on SF shortly,

Do you know how many of the SSP leaders have been martyred? i remember reading something that suggested every leader so far has become shaheed?

Sister Aram, I believe what you have posted is correct, although I am unable to confirm this immediately, regarding how many SSP leaders have been made shaheed...

Time allowing, I will post the exact numbers & names, once I have fully verified them,

for your interest....

no need to put yourself out if you don't know for sure, its not very important, i was just being curious

i just thought its amazing if it is true because it shows the sincerity of such organizations, most people in the dunya want to be leaders of certain organizations for money and other worldly benefits but the thing which seems almost guaranteed for their leaders is shahadat, i think there are very few men who would put themselves in that position

may Allah ta'alah accept their work..aameen
