Like I said there is no authentic narration as far as I know. I have just shared it to share the knowledge with the people and I clearly know that this tree won't gonna save me from hell fire. |

I have already pasted the video link and will be waiting for your posts Muhammad bin ’Abdullah bin ’Abdul Muttalib bin Haashim bin ’Abdu Manaaf bin Qusay bin Kilaab bin Murrah bin K’ab bin Luwayy bin Ghaalib bin Fihr bin Maalik bin Al-Nadr bin Kinaanah bin Khuzaimah bin Mudrikah bin Ilyaas bin Mudar bin Nazaar bin Ma'ad bin ‘Adnaan. 1 Hafiz ‘Asqalani (rahmatullahu ta’ala) says that Imam Bukhari records this noble lineage in his Jam’i Sahih up to ’Adnan only. However, in his Taarikh, he records the lineage right up to Hadhrat Ibrahim (alayhis salaam). This is recorded as follows: ‘Adnaan bin Udaw bin Al-Muqawwam bin Taarih bin Yashjab bin Y'arab bin Thaabit bin Ismaa’il bin Ibrahim (alayhis salaam). 2 The accuracy of the linage going up to ‘Adnaan is acknowledged by all genealogists. None of them disagree on this issue. In fact, the accuracy of ‘Adnaan being a descendant of Hadhrat Ismaa’il (alayhis salaam) is also recognized by all genealogists. 3 However, they differ on the number of ancestors there were between ‘Adnan and Hadhrat Ismaa’il (alayhis salaam). Some genealogists are of the opinion that there were thirty whilst others maintain that there were at least forty successive generations between the two. And Allah Ta’ala knows best. ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (radhiallahu ‘anhu) narrates that whenever Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) broached the subject of his noble ancestry, he would not mention any of his forbears beyond ’Adnan. He would stop at ‘Adnaan and then remark: “The genealogists have erred.” 4 In other words, they are not entirely acquainted with all his successive ancestors. Their statements are not authenticated. Hadhrat ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ood (radhiallahu ‘anhu) would first recite this verse: “And the peoples of 'Aad and Thamood and those after them, nobody except Allah has knowledge about them.” [Sarah Ghaafir verse 31 Surah Ibrahim verse 9] He would thereafter declare: “The genealogists have erred.” In other words, the genealogists claim that they are fully acquainted with all the bloodlines but this is a false claim. 5 ‘Allamah Suhaili says that Imam Malik (rahmatullahu ta’ala) was once asked about a person who traces his family tree all the way to Hadhrat Adam (alayhis salaam). Imam Malik (rahmatullahu ta’ala) expressed his aversion to this undertaking. When the questioner asked about tracing his bloodline to Hadhrat Ismaa’il (alayhis salaam), Imam Malik (rahmatullahu ta’ala) again expressed his aversion to this by saying: “Who informed him of this?” 6 1 Sahih Bukhari Baabu Mub’asin-Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) 2 Fathul-Baari volume 7 page 125 3 Zaadul-Ma’ad volume 1 page 15 4 Al-Tabaqaat Al-Kubraa Li Sa’ad volume 1 page 28 5 Tabqaat Ibn S’ad volume 1 page 28 6 Rawdul-Anf volume 1 page 11 Egyptian print 1332 A.H. 1914 From Siratul Mustafaa volume 1 pages 28 – 30 By: Hadhrat Maulana Idris sahib Kaandehlawi (rahmatullahu ta’ala) Translated by: Mufti Muhammad Kadwa (db) |
