I dont see how a country like Saudi can start playing a major role in the world when women are not allowed to drive, not to mention their human rights record and that's just for starters! They wouldnt be taken seriously and in my view shouldnt be. but then again, they are so used to investing in chickens and giving money to Americans so lets not bet on it Chinese are already using their financial muscle to their benefits. Rich Arabs cant think beyond their toys unfortunately |

[Mod clip] the time for becoming a power isnt yet. first we need as many sunni governments in power as possible, all allied to one another inshAllah and with islamic minded leaders. Ten we need development programmes on infrastures and jobs. Then when we are strong enough to become dominant without being invaded THEN we can become dominant world powers inshAllah turkey and saudi are currently focusing on removing assad, the next key step in teh first step of the plan i outlined i.e.: "first we need as many sunni governments in power as possible, all allied to one another inshAllah and with islamic minded leaders" after syria, I think getting any more islamic governments will be hard so we need to focus on cementing our rule in turkey, saudi, egypt, tunisia, syria and possibly get the ball rolling on alliances with less secular countries like moroccoa, indonesia, malaysia, jordan etc inshAllah once we've done all we can to create an islamic alliance in a NATO/EU style with joint currency etc, we can look to phase 2 inshAllah. If you want us to become and up and coming power this will take time inshAllah and will take muslims supporting them and not being blinded by racism and sectarianism and loking at every little fault of muslim rulers. we should wish both turkey and saudi well sadly if saudi achieve something and i post it here, people will not be happy, they will be bitter and post negative messages so this shows our mentality |

Asalaam aleykum, This should have been the most powerful country in the world but its really frustrating. I understand progress takes a long time to achieve but being the birthplace of deen, this country would have more influence in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe but guess what? Nothing....I mean PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece and Spain) are selling off everything to the Chinese and guess what? KSA is no where to be seen, basically Saudi's would have bought everything worth buying in these countries, and in return there would be so much leverage not only in mutual respect but also transfer of technology and of course Muslims wouldn't be facing the humiliation they are facing at the moment. But guess what? dont bet on it. Why? Because there are interesting paradoxes in Saudi society—where women are forbidden to drive but are more likely to attend universities than men, I think its about time Saudis come out from the shell and start to play a major role in the world otherwise Turkey under the AK party will trounce them. I couldnt believe my eyes when world media showed Turkish PM and his wife PLUS countless delegation in Mogadishu1 I mean that was so courageous of Tayip. I mean Saudis should have been involved but they are no where to be seen. Ohhh btw Turkey will reopen their embassy in Mogadishu. I mean isnt this what brotherhood is all about? Jumaa Kareem |

Why do some of the people here have deep prejudices against Saudi Arabia? Have you ever been there? And just for your information, the Saudi public love and respect Erdogan big time. Many Turks live and work in Saudi Arabia and they are treated very well. Turks are warriors and nobody wants to mess with them. Look at their history. Their Arabic is fantastic - the best of any non-Arab community by far. Posts pitting Muslims against each other should be retracted.

Saudis have no proper functioning institution. The people in general are quiet unprofessional. If I want a village idiot to lead, KSA will top my selection. The only think they have going is their zeal to export lamadhabism around the world.. This aint going to stop the decay the ills of KSA society. |

they are far from sexually frustrated.
that is just what the zionist media promotes. the reality is that they have early marriage and the option of polygamy, outside of what is good in Islam many, many Saudi youths are seduced by lonely foreign maids and have zina relationships with them and many Saudi men go on holidays where they marry, stay in a place for a while with their 'wife' and then divorce her before going home - this being forbidden muta marriage in all but name. Saudis are not sexually frustrated. |

I hear Saudis have many homosexual tendencies and relationships because they find it difficult to meet and marry women. That Saudi like Isreal imports Eastern European prostitutes to cities like Riyadh.
Anyway Saudi is contracted to the west...it needs to sell its oil for dollars, and it needs to put those dollars back into the west...by buying weapons, casinos, hotels, banks, corporations etc. If they do this the Arab Spring will not come in Saudi if they do not do it then they will be history. From the point of view of Islam we do not really want the Saudi family to be removed..because we would get something much worse if they were replaced. May Allah Guide them and protect them. |

why would turkey "trounce" saudi when they are partners and allies The answer lies more in GEO-ECONOMICS which in turn has paved way for GEO-POLITICS . First of all unlike Riyadh, Ankara has undergone tremendous domestic change in the past decade, an arguably more significant shift is Turkey's emergence as an economic power. Since 1990, Turkey's gross domestic product has quadrupled, exports have grown by a factor of five, foreign direct investment by a factor of 45, and the value of traded stocks by a factor of 50. While economists have increasingly begun to issue warning flags regarding Turkey's current accounts deficit and risks of overheating, such concerns have yet to translate into the political field. It is only natural that Turkey's newly found economic clout would translate into more self-confidence on the international scene. Turkey's "rediscovery" is part and parcel of this: Turkish exports are looking for new markets, and hordes of businessmen regularly accompany Turkish leaders on their numerous visits to Africa, Middle East, Asia and beyond. Given the close ties between politics and business in the region, closer political ties provide Turkish businessmen with preferential treatment. Secondly, alleged Western mistakes are often viewed as an important factor in this transformation—including the view of former U.S. secretary of defense Robert Gates who blamed the EU's cold shouldering of Turkey for the country's "drift." While Ankara sided with Western states in major foreign policy issues in the past, this relationship was based on perceived reciprocity. However, since Turkey began negotiating for EU accession in 2005, opposition to Turkish membership not only grew in Europe but became ever more clearly articulated in terms of Ankara's cultural identity: Was Turkey in fact European at all? Overt calls by French and German politicians against Turkish accession had a profound impact in Ankara where politicians of all stripes denounced this stance. Most Turks now believe that Ankara will never join the EU, and internal support for membership has dwindled. Europe's alienation from Turkey has clearly had foreign policy implications. While the Saudis were quick to defend Mubarak and the Tunisian dictator, Ankara was an early cheerleader for the Egyptian revolution: Erdoğan called on Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak to resign, making him the first world leader to do so. And if Ankara was unequivocal on Egypt, Libya proved more complicated. When violence in Libya escalated, the Turkish leadership refrained from taking a clear stance. In fact, Erdoğan and Davutoğlu initially opposed U.N. sanctions on the Qaddafi regime and rejected calls for a NATO operation in the developing civil war. Erdoğan, Gül, and Davutoğlu cast doubt on Western motives, referring to "hidden agendas" and the West's thirst for oil resources (which almost every one agrees) Ankara eventually relented when some of its reservations were taken into account and later approved the NATO operation, calling for Qaddafi's resignation formally withdrawing its ambassador from Tripoli and recognizing the Transitional Council. We never saw Saudi influence in that sphere. Now coming to Africa, which is of great interest to superpowers around the world (except Saudi's of course). So far Turkey has built hospitals and Schools and upgraded existing ones, improved access to safe drinking water, repaired damaged roads and started work on the construction of an international airport. In March, Turkish Airlines began regular flights to Mogadishu, the first direct connection to Europe since 1991;. Turkish aid to Somalis since early 2011, both in cash and in-kind, is now estimated to be well in excess of $350 million. here what i found on the google when i searched "Turkish investnment in Somalia": Turkey and the Horn of Africa: Emerging Interests and Relations http://www.internationalpolicydigest...and-relations/ ![]() Turkey set to heavily invest in Somalia http://somalilandpress.com/worldnews...est-in-somalia Turkey begins training 120 Somalis in Technical and Trades Innovation http://somalilandpress.com/africa/31...des-innovation ![]() IN PICTURES: Turkey begins training Somali forces http://somalilandpress.com/africa/31...-somali-forces ![]() IN PICTURES: Turkey makes progress in Somalia http://somalilandpress.com/africa/32...ogress-somalia Turkey takes lead in rebuilding Somalia http://www.ganjab.com/bus/?p=497 http://www.ganjab.com/bus/?p=502 Somalia – Ready to do Business http://www.ganjab.com/bus/?p=512 ![]() http://somalilandpress.com/index.php?s=turkish MEB3 and Turkish Airlines grow in Africa at Europe’s big airlines’ expense The Gulf carriers (the ‘MEB3’) and Turkish Airlines are on a clear expansion course in Sub-Saharan Africa, while Europe’s big airlines seem to rearrange their networks to the African continent ![]() The biggest growth in absolute terms comes from Turkish Airlines, which has launched new non-stop flights to Accra, Dar Es Salaam, Kinshasa and Kigali. Turkish Airlines has also boosted its operations to Khartoum, Lagos and Johannesburg by 30-40%. Where are the Saudis? well no where... |

Br. Abdul
You simply reiterated what I have said about sexual fraustrated people in your 2nd paragraph. I was in Saudia for 3 months and have asked about women not allowed to drive. This is what I was told the women will be harrassed and many of their girls will have relation outside marriage. Whilst I was there three saudi girls got drunk in a compound!! In one instant this mans wife was kindnapped from a taxi journy from the airport and her whereabout is not known yet!! If you are a businessmen, the local will usurp your business as they have least amount of respect for contact and rights of others!! The fact that arabs ask for huge amount of dowery often as a byeproduct to safeguard the rights of their daughter says a lot. A society that can't look after the week and voiceless is not civilised but anti islamic to its core. They are uncivilised people personified and deserve to do job of cleaning toilets!! If anyone call me racist, they do so because they are oblivious to the reality of saudi society.. They think Saudi backed Islamic TV is what saudia is about!! Deaf dumb and blind, they like to make people to hide their regrssive society. The propganda Islamic TV machine is doing the bidding for Saudi dissfuctional society. |
