Assalamualaikum, Desire was used in the meaning of urge (Talab). When you have the urge to do any thing then things start happening, as if on their own. Just try to remember those moments when you had the urge to do some thing. You were sort of just gliding on the wings of angels. Suppose you wanted to buy a new cricket bat. Suppose the urge to buy that was there. Then things would happen in exactly that way - automatically. And this urge itself is a blessing of allah (SWT). Meri ye talab bhi kisi a karam ka sadqa hai Qadam ye khud nahin uthte, uthaye jaate hain Even this urge of mine is SomeOne's Grace Steps to don't proceed, these are made to So the solution is simple - produce urge, desire, Talab. And then just glide! |

Assalamualaikum brother userinvalid, I very sincerely request you to never praise anyone on his face, online and offline both. Ive seen the devastating effects of praise and what it does to a persons mind including me. Its better you give the person poison than praise him. By buttering up someone, you send them to hell because very few people in the world can handle butter (makhan), it turns them into firon. As for me saying anything, im looking for a cure. im looking for some prescriptions here. |

If you dont want further butter (makhan) then best would have been to ignore this in the first place. Sometimes, kibr looks like tawadhu. |

Thank you for advicing me, and I appreciate. Also I apologize for being like this. The cure is very easy : http://yunuspatel.co.za/downloads/Fe...ituallyLow.pdf If you do not have time to read from this, then a very simple thing which is tested by me. It is to sit in the corner, somewhere dark. The best is before sleeping, just close your eyes and imagine yourself in grave. Just think how dark it would be if it is so dark by just closing your eyes, and how small the grave would be e.t.c And I am also sure you are bayyat to a shaykh, why not contact him aswell? ====================== Just to further add, A heart is something which is very easily effected. It has connection with the ears, the nose, the eyes , the brain e.t.c Anything you hear has a direct effect on your heart, anything you see has a direct effect on your heart, anything you think has a direct effect on your heart e.t.c similar with other organs. And the worse effect it can be a forming of a black dot as related by an hadith. And so much layer is formed in your heart that it totally gets covered. And this is why sufia iqram teaches qalbi dhikr, to purify the heart from the blackness and the rustness. Until it shines and glows. Also through hadith the cure for black heart is to recite quran as much as you can, and remembering death. But I am sure your shaykh has given you dhikr, so stick with it and do it with full concentration. Also contact your shaykh aswell. This is why sufia iqram teach to do dhikr standing, sitting, laying, at all forms. Also, when you are sitting in a gathering then connect yourself with Allah (swt), known as khalvat dar anjuman. Jazakallah. |

Assalamualaikum, brother, will try this inshaAllah. As for my shaikh, i think hes travelling so no answer Thats why im looking for some answers. I read somewhere, i think hakeem ul ummah's malfoozat tht a person should try to rectify his problem himself first and if the problem doesnt go, then contact the shaikh. What harm in doing a little mashwara? it might benefit alot of people. |

I read somewhere, i think hakeem ul ummah's malfoozat tht a person should try to rectify his problem himself first and if the problem doesnt go, then contact the shaikh. Hazrat Thanwi (RA), in my personal experience, is very particular to drive this point home that self propulsion is not very becoming of a student or a seeker. |

Khuda Tujhe Toofaanon Se Aashna Kar De
Ke Tere Bahar Ki Mojon Mein Iztirab Nahin May Allah make you face to face with storms For that ocean of yours lacks tumult and turmoil For an untrained person this might sound like a curse than a supplication. Allama Iqbal is praying here for the youth to get into difficult situations. In reality this is a supplication for getting the youth into action - the only thing that is well becoming of youth. And thus it is also an exhortation to the effect desired in the OP - awakening of heart. Awakening of heart means to do what one has come to do in this world. The purpose of life is to earn Jannah and Jannah has been covered by hardships. If you are ready to face the hardships of life you are on the right path and your heart is awaken. Actually the very fact that Maulana is worried about dead heart is awakening in itself. This is a different situation from an earlier one in which he was put off by talks about Hadhrat A and Hadhrat B. So this desire to awaken heart is a good omen. May Allah (SWT) keep the flame lit. My Shaikh (DB) repeats several times in a Majlis : Zikr Karo Fikr Paidah Ho Jayegi, indulge in Remembrance - you shall become concerned. So there you have a simple formula to the same purpose. There is Muraqba-e-Maut (Remembrance of Death) by Khwaja Azizul Hasan Sahab Ghauri Majzoob (RA). I read it everyday for months on - it takes at least twenty minutes to read normally. Then there is the lecture by Pir Zulfiqar Ahmed Sahab (DB) from Dar-ul-Uloom Waqf about the sacrifices by the scholars in the path to seek knowledge. It contains a muraqbah using a poem by Pir Nasiruddin. This muraqbah completely tears you away from this world - just like combing your skin with iron comb. Finally two lectures by Maulana Tariq Jamil Sahab (DB) give you a rather sharp message that you might just get up from your seat to jump into action. One was at Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore and another one at a Jamaat-e-Islami function. And with these things covered any one should be up and running in a few weeks. Not a bad transaction at all. |
