Can someone please give me the definition of an inanimate object from an Islamic perspective. I have a young boy who is just over one years old and buying him toys and clothes can be difficult.
I am confused over a number of issues such the permissibility of a robotic toy or an alien toy. in reality robots are not living and aliens do not exist, so technically this would not be mimicking animate beings. However one may also argue that aliens and robots are based on human forms, so where's the line drawn? what is a toy car has two eyes instead of head lamps and a mouth instead of a grill, is that now considered an animate object? must I remove the eyes and mouth or can I leave them? Also if a stick man has 2 dots for eyes a line for a nose and mouth, would that be considered a drawing of an animate being? How much of the face has to be removed before it is no longer considered a picture of an animate being? e.g. if i remove the eyes and leave the nose and mouth on an image is that OK or must I remove All of the facial features i.e. the eyes, nose and mouth? ![]() |
