What a cutie beauty you have compiled brother Umar. Just a few days ago a Quranist intellectual gave me a piece of his brain-this will be a nice gift for him!

Assalamu alaykum

Are there any translation of books written in urdu on Moulana Moudoodi sahib's modern Islam. Things like "I will understand the quran my own way, as if it is revealed on me", " I will use my intelligence and logics to accept or reject saheeh ahadeeth including bukhari"

Alhamdulillah I have the books in urdu.

for the appreciation.

It would be great if you could contribute to the list with other links or suggestions.

Actually it's quite a good number of articles but we need more than that.

Specifically, we need something dealing with both the ideologic and the political background of reformism/modernism, as modernism is not just the result of mere mistakes, misconceptions and lack of proper understanding; rather, it's the result of the political system implemented by the kuffar during and after colonialism.

Debunking the "interests" at the background of modernism would expose its complicity with oppression of Muslims worldwide and insha'Allah hopefully bring to its complete eradication and utter loss of credibility of "reformism", in my view far more clearly and definitively than just addressing the issues one by one from a Fiqhi/logical point of view.

For such analysis I would specifically look forward the contribution of brothers such as Usama2, DefendingIslam, Dhul-Qarnayn, but the call is extended to anyone else, indeed.

I would suggest two books written by Peter Berger A rumour of Angels and The heretical imperative. There are some explanations, from a sociological and psychological perspective, that are very useful.

Why is there a need for reforming Islam ? Of course , the devil has always tried to corrupt the divine message. However , in the last 500 years , there comes another enitiy named international bankers who use usury to conquer the whole world.

Their aim is to redefine Islam in order to subordinate it to dominant World Order capitalist interests through a new wave of "political Islamism".

A new strand of Islam is thereby being fashioned through what has come to be called “Calvinist Islam” or a “Muslim version of the Protestant work ethic.”

This “Calvinist Islam” also has no problem with the “reba” or interest system, which is prohibited under Islam. It is this system that is used to enslave individuals and societies with the chains of debt to global capitalism. It is in this context that the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is calling for so-called “democratic reforms” in the Arab World.

The ruling families of Sauda Arabia and the Arab petro-sheikhdoms are also partners in the enslavement of the Arab world through debt. In this regard Qatar and the Arab sheikhdoms of the Persian Gulf are in the process of creating a Middle East Development Bank that is intended to give loans to Arab countries to support their "transition towards democracy". The democracy promotion mission of the Middle East Development Bank is ironic because the countries forming it are all staunch dictatorships.

More on this issue is discussed in this thread.

No, please, not also here... :
Do not underestimate the war on usury declared in Quran. You should read the Quranic verses related to usury below.

#################################

http://www.inter-islam.org/Prohibitions/intrst.htm
####################################

How Is Interest Illegal

The definition of interest has already been mentioned as well as that it is prohibited. If we explore the Qur’an we will come across at least four places where Allah has mentioned interest.

The first one is in Surah Al-baqarah verse no.275

"Those who devour usury will not stand except as stands one whom the Satan by his touch has driven to madness. That is because they say, "trade is like usury", but Allah has permitted trade and has forbidden usury",

In the next verse verse 276 in the same place he says,

"Allah will deprive usury of all blessing, and will give increase for deeds of charity, for he does not love any ungrateful sinner."

Two verses later in verse 278 he says,

"Oh you who believe! Fear Allah and give up what remains of your demand for usury if you are indeed believers."

In verse 279 he says,

"If you do not, take notice of war from Allah and his Messenger sallallahu alaihe wasallm but if you repent you shall have your capital sum. Deal not unjustly and you shall not be dealt with unjustly."

In the second place in Surah Aal-Imran, verse no.130 Allah says,

"Oh you who believe! Devour not usury doubled and multiplied; but fear Allah that you may prosper."

In the third place in Surah Al-Nisaa’ Allah states in verse 161,

"That they took usury though they were forbidden and they devoured peoples wealth wrongfully; we have prepared for those amongst them who reject faith a grievous chastisement."

In the fourth place, Surah Al-Room, verse no.39 Allah mentions

"That which you give in usury for increase through the property of people will have no increase with Allah: but that which you give for charity seeking the countenance of Allah, it is these who will get a recompense multiplied."

############################################

With the money created out of thin air , the bankers started to give usurious loans to the people
and in the end they devoured the wealth of people , then society and then at a national level.
All these started with usury !! More on this issue is discussed here.

i am not going to behave against modernism and "Islamic reformism" for everything has its own reason to exist and i don't think any fault about them.

I think what Umar wanted us to concentrate on was,, this:
Specifically, we need something dealing with both the ideologic and the political background of reformism/modernism, as modernism is not just the result of mere mistakes, misconceptions and lack of proper understanding; rather, it's the result of the political system implemented by the kuffar during and after colonialism.
