I don't want you to think I have totally abandoned you by not posting..
On the contrary..
I am really tied up for the next 2 weeks or so as I am in charge of a "Hay Ride-Picnic" that our village is putting on.. This will be on Saturday, Sept. 8th and yours truly is the conveyor of the event..

Hot Dogs in buns with the condiments
Ice cold pop both regular and diet
Ice cold water
Chips
One bite cupcakes
Games for the kids
Games for the adults
Music by a local artist
Face painting and balloons
Family ball game
Hay ride with a team of horses

All this is free to the whole village and paid for by the local council to which I belong (Parks and Recreation)

I am expecting about 300 people.. That means 2 hotdogs per person.. 600 dogs and buns must be cooked and served.. 600 cupcakes.. 400 drinks..
I had to organize a crew to take care of things........
WHO WANTS TO COOK AND SERVE 600 HOTDOGS ???????

Now you know why I am not on here much............

LOL!!! You can eat the hotdogs, just not the buns and cupcakes! Keep Lots of mustard at hand and HAVE FUN!!!!!!

I went to our local LEGION branch and asked them for some help..
They are going to supply me with 4 helpers to take care of the food..

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!!!!!!!!!!

PS..... I cook those dogs but it doesn't mean I have to eat them....
Also, I am on maintenance but I still won't eat anything illegal.. Not worth it !!!

Also a Canuck here but on the western side and we have been hearing about that horrible mall tradgedy as well. You are good folks to be there for others.

Gardens are alot of work aren't they. I had to laugh when I heard you say your zuchini wouldn't grow. I didn't think it was possible for that stuff not to grow LOL I love it and use it sliced raw as crackers now that I'm a low carb lifer. And shredded as pasta and pureed in soup or for sauces. MMMMMMMM

I was just saying on my thread that I've been trying to get outside to tend to our gardens but the mosquitos are so bad this year that one can't be outside for more than a few minutes. Lord I hate bugs!

C'mon. It is only human to care and help if you can. Besides, it might of been us that needed some help and I would think someone would do the same thing.........

Our zucchini finally decided to do us a favour and grow !!!!! We have a ton of huge orange flowers but so far, that's all.
Our butternut squash has taken over the garden and are growing all over the onions.
Our tomatoes look like a jungle.
Radishes are over. They were very potent but good !!!!
As far as the rest goes, we will see what happens while we are away next week.

Like I posted on another thread, we are off to fight the war of 1812 all over again next week.........
