Yep, the FDA says HCG is illegal - from what I can see this doesn't mean it doesn't work (we are all living testimony to that!) but that it hasn't been given FDA approval. Basically, the FDA is saying that without FDA approval, people selling HCG have no legal standing to make weight loss claims. Keep in mind that cancer-causing aspartame is FDA approved, and Stevia (which comes from a plant, and has been used for hundreds of years) is not.

It's very complicated.....there is a list...called a formulary of drugs approved by the FDA to be marketed as homeopathic remedies. Hcg is not on that formulary, so the FDA cracked down on hhcg at the beginning of 2012. There are still places selling it, but many of the formulas no longer have hcg in them, they contain instead amino acids, vitamins, etc. there are still some hhcg formulas out there flying under the radar.
Prescription hcg is not approved by the FDA for weight loss. The use of it for that purpose is not illegal, it's just an off label use. There are many drugs out there used for off label uses....this is very common. It's not illegal for a doctor or clinic to prescribe it to you for weight loss, but for an individual non doctor to sell it to you is technically fraud, and dispensing a prescription med without a license. An individual is not allowed to dispense it for an off label use as a doctor is. Recognize this is all US law....other countries will vary. Hope this helps some.... |

**While there are no comprehensive data on how many Americans are taking two diet drugs simultaneously, a study in the March 2009 issue of Obesity revealed that 65 percent of weight specialists belonging to the American Society of Bariatric Physicians who responded to a survey are prescribing unapproved, or “off label,” drug combinations like phen-Topamax. This practice is perfectly legal. In fact, one out of five common drugs for adults is prescribed off label, according to a well-regarded 2006 analysis in the Archives of Internal Medicine. The theory is that as long as a drug has been approved and is on the market, physicians may use it as they see fit. ** **One result: Most of the drug combos being used by dieters have not been tested in clinical trials conducted by drug companies or in rigorous studies led by academic researchers. There are also safety issues. For instance, when a drug manufacturer tried to market a single pill called Qnexa that combined the two medications Sibley took (although in different doses), the FDA rejected it over concerns about birth defects and cardiovascular risks. Yet both doctors and patients can point to success stories in which these medication regimens have led to weight loss without evident health damage.** **A majority of panelists ultimately backed the drug due to its impressive weight loss results, with most patients losing nearly 10 percent of their overall weight after a year on the drug. But the group stressed that the drugmaker must be required to conduct a large, follow-up study of the pill's effects on the heart. Studies of Qnexa show it raises heart rate and causes heart palpitations, a longtime concern with diet pills over the years. The group of experts said it is still unclear if those side effects lead to heart attack and more serious cardiovascular problems.** That is 10% of their weight in a year, in other words, the loss is so slow that the drug company will make a fortune off of people. Why not hcg? Let's look at walmart online, we have 74 diet aids and I am so sure many say the results have not been evaluated by the fda. I think all the hhcg users need to march on the fda. They allow so many drugs that are so harmful, show minimal results(not just weight loss aids). The fact that even hhcg can cause such a great weight loss, if the protocol is followed and people stabilize well, they will not need all their medications anymore, in a matter of months over a few years. Much less time to reach full weight loss goal over spending years taking a weight loss drug to lose 10% per year, not including the doctor visits. The only logical conclusion is they were paid off to ban it. There is nothing they can say to prove otherwise. |

Oh I fully understand. I see many weight loss aids being sold over the counter and no proof they work. I see many drugs with side effects a mile long approved by the fda. I am a firm believer we have the best government money can buy. So if a major lobbying business says hey that is not proven, the fda will kill it. I mean look at how many drugs are used off label anyways. |

Very true words you spoke! It was only "banned" because (and follow me here- i know many people on here don't believe this) but the FDA wants you to be sick- and eat crap food and take crap medicine and live your like unhealthy and sick.... |

The very fact that alcohol and cigarettes are legal and marijuana is illegal shows how corrupted they are. How many harmful drugs have they allowed and a few years later take off the market. Because they are bullied by major corporations into allowing them. The fines and lawsuits followed are nothing compared to the profits these companies have reaped. Look at the poisons they allow into our food chain from China. Politics piss me off and I go into a rant, so I am sorry about that. I do not trust either of our parties, our government is for corporations not the people. They have too much money to lose if people change their life styles and lose the weight permanently. It will never happen, billions and billions will be lost. ![]() |

Its not the corporations per se....it's our political system. Drug manufacturers are forbidden from giving me a pen to use in my practice, because I am so gullible that the pen could influence me to use their drug more often. BUT it's fine if the same drug company gives 10 million dollars to a senators reelection campaign because the senator is -above- any influence from said 10 million dollars.....ahem.....need I say more? The drug companies are simply following the rules laid out by our elected officials. Have you ever heard of a senator, or representative leaving office NOT a millionaire? Ever wonder how this happens on their salary? |

Tx, I love Kevin Trudeau's book. He is so knowledgable about alternative medicine and has so many contacts, he has so much experience with both the good and the bad. He does belabor the political points, but is just trying to get through to those who have not been exposed to this information beore. I think he is amazing!
