HI,
I just started the Atkins Diet last week and am doing well so far. It is made much easier because I have two carb counters that I like very much. The one on my computer is from Sparkpeople.com It is a very good overall nutritional record keeper. I wish it came as an app for my iphone. A few hints, on the start page, go to the Nutrition Tracker button, Under Tracker Options go to Add another nutrient to track. You should be able to add Low carb diet net carbs. That is important as you want only to track those on Atkins. When I am adding food to the record, I scroll down to the Weekly Progress Report and there you will find the net carbs. I look only at those and my calories. I think it is important for me, in induction to look at those, too. This site will also record my glucose numbers on this voyage. On my iPhone, I found Carb Manager and I love it, too. It is very easy to understand after you work with it a bit. Both have a favorites option, make a food a favorite and you can go there instead of looking it up every time. Hope this helps someone on this journey. ![]() |

Hi,
Thank you for your advices. I started a low carb diet 2 weeks ago and so I start to count calories ... I just discovered menunature.com, and it is very accurate (shows carb, fat, protein, but also iron, sodium, fiber, magnesium and cholesterol). It helps me to keep my food diary everyday, with a nice interface. Hope this may help too ! |
