Default Im loving the "Fat Fast!"
Hi, has anyone done, or is doing the Fat Fast in P2? Yesterday was VLCD7 for me, and the previous days I lost 0.6 and 1.2 so I decided to give it a try. This morning I'm down 2lbs! So far I'm down 13.8lbs! I'm doing it again today, and tomorrow, and then i'm going back to the reg menu. They say you shouldn't do it more for 3 days in a row. It's a nice break from usual foods, and a nice little weight loss boost. Anyone else having results doing the Fat Fast?

The short version is its basically a controlled carb program, where you have to eat around 1000 calories in which around 85%-90% (for hcg users) are calories from fat. You eat every couple of hours, around 200-300 calories each meal. So for example, eggs, bacon, mayo, nuts, peanut butter, cream cheese, are all good choices. Dr. Atkins came up with it. After doing this for a day or a couple of days you must go back to strict protocol for at least 1 week before doing it again, to give your body the chance to get used to the sudden release, and not try to go back to the weight it was before.

I've done the fat fast when I was doing Atkins and had great results with it, I have not done it while on HCG. When I did do it, I would eat cream cheese and macadamia nuts

Yes, it isn't necessarily recommended but after 3 weeks stall... I will try ANYTHING!!! I have been yoyoing between 142-146 for the last 3 weeks no matter what I have done. Mini steak days usually broke my stall... but I don't know what is going on!!! I lost a bunch of weight in the 1st 2 weeks & I am guessing that might have something to do with it.

I hope this helps! I will post my results tomorrow but I am not sure how day 1 will go for me. I totally lost my nerve yesterday after seeing another 146 on the scale so had a few BAD cheats! Today of course in my yoyo style... I was down 3 pounds to 144.... Typically I would be back up again tomorrow even on VLCD since up/down/up/down has been the norm the last 3 weeks. Today is day 1 of FFD so if I have a loss again... I will be convinced that the stall will have broken but might take 2 days of this to really know. I haven't lost 2 days in a row in FOREVER now!

I know I needed to get my head together cause seeing 142-146 everyday was really hurting my mental state & I was VERY focused when I started this round! If I have a loss 2 days in a row that will give me regained focus to continue out my last 2 weeks on VLCD and actually LOOSE! I might just take a PI and get back on for another 3 weeks to make up some losses that I had in this stall!!!

I'm interested to see how it goes! I was reading how some had success with the coconut oil (crack) and was reading in envy, I look at something off plan and it goes to my hips Good luck, I'm crossing my fingers for you.

It's totally rogue of course. Just mentioning that fact for newbies. I don't want anyone thinking it's a recommended thing because you're just as likely to gain weight on it. I did try it once when not in P2 and I felt absolutely horrible. Shaky, weak. Very weird.

I did a fat fast day in P2, and my fasting day consisted of 1200 calories of the chocolate coconut mousse and a little cocoa crack. It was a miserable, nauseous, dizzy, sweating, fiery day (because the coconut oil revs up your system so much) but the success was undeniable. I was near the end of my second and final round of HCG, and within just a few pounds of my goal weight and had not moved much on the scale in over two weeks so thought it worth a try.

I only fasted for one day, but woke up to a 2.0lb loss the next day, and over the course of the next 5 days, my losses totaled 5.4lbs in 6 days (fast day + 5 days following) and the weight stayed off. I am absolutely certain that the coconut oil overload kicked my system and metabolism into high gear, and I am so happy I had the courage to try it out in P2 and reach my final goal!

Good luck to you all!

I'm nearing the end of 30 days (day 26 tomorrow) and wanted to lose a little more. Do you continue taking the hCG while doing this fat fast? Do most people lose? I'm IR so I do fairly well with proteins. I'm nervous to gain weight though.
Thinking I might go for the 40 days?
Advice?

Thanks for sharing MissGyver!

I know I needed to try something new. I am in R3 after not stabilizing after a short round.. NEVER will I do one of those again! But I've lost SO much time with this yoyo effect I am in =( I made my coco crack different today using butter & nuts so I guess I will find out tomorrow. I have a PI planned for late next week so I literally gave myself no time to get this all in... but I couldn't continue any longer in my yoyo. I know I would have lost my nerve like I did yesterday & just blow it all off & go into my PI and over do my eating causing an even worst damage! Depending on these results of FFD will now be the deciding factor in how long I PI and how long I will go back to P2 after my PI. I have lost SO much time!!!

BrodiesMom - It's totally rouge & basically "at your own risk" it works for some people but not for others. It's no carbs & NO sugar and fat which has to be "good fat" up to 80 to 85% of your 1200 calories broken into 5 to 6 200 calorie meals throughout the day & water as normal. I am following this menu today & tomorrow. (tomorrow if I loose anyway) You must follow a srict VLCD for at least 4 days after a FFD. Oh & yes... you continue taking HCG while doing the FFD. The longest recommended FFD is 3 days. I can only do for 2 days due to a PI and needing to get all the days in to get to P3 next Thursday.

1tbs heavy whipping cream in my coffee
28 almonds
2 tbs sugar free peanut butter
1 avacado
2 jalapeno bacon wrapped cream cheese bites
1 serving of cocoa crack

I hope it works... if I don't see a loss sometime soon I am going to loose it!

Just as a side note, I mentioned I fat fasted solely on coconut oil based fats. I think, personally (and this is just my opinion), that my success hinged not on the fat fast, but that the fats I fasted on were primarily MCT's... the fat in coconut oil is not really recognized as a fat like a nut or bacon or avocado would. I wouldn't have even considered eating foods like cheese or nuts in P2 - people have a rough enough time incorporating them back into P3 that I just feel like that would be a recipe for disaster, but I may be wrong.

Anyways, I just wanted to throw out there the difference between the fat type I fasted on vs. the typical Atkins fat fast menu because I risked the fast in p2.

What is your recipe for the chocolate coconut mousse? I can only find one with heavy whipping cream.

So this is to try and break a stall? So is it just basically eating bacon & eggs all day? What other types of food can you have?

Thanks

Well I'm up 0.4 this morning and I think I know why. I used a lot of hair products and lotion yesterday thinking it couldn't hurt since I was eating all that fat. It turned out to be too much, and I think it pushed me to over 90 percent. Overall I still like the idea of it and I plan to do it once every 2 weeks (doing a long round). By the end of yesterday I was kind of tired of all the fat and it kind of made me sick. So I'm not going to do it for more than one day anymore. And if anyone is going to try it make sure at least 85 percent of ur calories are from fat or u won't lose as much, but no more than 90 percent or u will not lose and possibly gain. The good news is that if you do gain, you can lose it rather quickly, not like a cheat gain. Good luck!!

Good morning everyone! Well I will have to check in with the "official" results tomorrow. I realize the scale I am using isn't consistent so I dug my scale out of storage which IS consistent. I believe I am down a pound maybe more... hard to tell with my moms scale since every time I step on it I get a different number =(

Anyway, tomorrow I hope to have better news & it will be my last FFD since I have a PI to get ready for!
