Default which meat works the best for most of you?
Just wondered which meat/protein seems to work best for most of you, for the best results? I don't do seafood, so I am only doing steak, 97% ground beef, chicken, tuna, I could do eggs/cottage cheese.

I also wondered if it will mess up me weight loss if I don't get my full 500 calories, even though I am eating the items I am supposed to eat?
thanks, ladibug

Tuna is not protocol... btw. Best for me was white fish, followed by chicken... I try to do fish for one meal at least every other day on P2, then I can also do veal/beef without a problem... only ground beef is difficult, since I cannot get really lean vairations here in Germany... my grass-fed ground beef is 82% lean.

I lost best on chicken and fish. I always boiled mine. I have never once eaten any sort of beef, and the only time I tried cottage cheese I stalled. I do an egg mixed with 3 egg whites occasionally and I lose just fine eating that. I'd be cautious with tuna, as it is a fattier fish than some other types. Also, I don't think I have ever quite made it to my full 500 calories. I'm not a huge veggie lover, so I usually eat my two proteins, one or two fruits and *maybe* a cucumber. Never the grissini. I've had great losses in my last two rounds and am looking forward to great losses in the round I am starting tomorrow as well. Good luck!

Ladibug - for me the chicken works best. Originally in Round 1, at first, I put the chicken in water & poached it (covered with spices), then after about 2 weeks, I started grilling or broiling it. Second best for me is talapia or shrimp. Again on the first round, I didn't do any beef until around the 3rd or 4th week. I did flank steak, pounded it & grilled it. I had no gains from that.

Currently I'm on Round 2, Phase 2, VLCD5 & I've basically just done chicken & fish. I had some ground chicken in the freezer that I prepared yesterday with some spices & a dash of Braggs Amino acids in it & it was SOOOO tasty! Today I warmed it up & used lettuce leaves & ate the nice & hot ground chicken wrapped in leaves. It was yummy!!!

I grocery shopped today & bought some ground beef (actually found organic ground beef that is 96% lean) & got a rib eye that I will grill part of on the 4th for myself!

Hope this helps - good luck on your journey!

As others have echoed boneless skinless chicken and white fish, primarily Cod or Talapia were my preference, worked best.

I also ate Shrimp, although for some reason more in the first half of P2 than than towards the back half.

I did eat ground beef and steak on occasion, but found I usually would have much less or even no loss for a day or 2 following Beef, but no gain, so I was "ok" with that in order to not deprive myself of red meat totally.

Oddly enough, beef works best for me. Don't know why but I consistently have the best losses after beef.

Beef for sure. I am on my 1st VLCD on round 2 so have just done 2 days of loading. I gained on the first day but this morning I had lost 200g because I had a large beef dinner last night despite eating stacks of loading foods for 2 days.

I like bison and it is naturally lower in fat than regular beef.
