This thread is great! I plan to keep this info in my back pocket for my next stall (my first one lasted about 4 days and was during my TOM)
|
Thank you so much for this Beth! It helped me so much to break my plateau in my last round of P2. I'm now in P3 and it looks like I will need a P3 Steak day tomorrow, guess I need to hit that 1500 calorie amount each day... After my experiences with Round 1 of the protocol, I know my food sensitivities, so I'm pretty sure I just need to consume the full 1500 cal each day to set my maintenance weight in.
Thanks again! Niara |
I cheated on saturday with some salmon sashimi for dinner, gained 0.2lb yesterday and another 0.2lb this morning. I was planning an apple day cuz i had great success with it from last time. But now in discovery of the p2 steak day, I think i might switch to it and see. Had a few apple bites prior to the discovery, but oh well. Better start loading some water.

Found this thread and it is great!!
I did a steak day and lost 2lbs, I am sooo happy. I was in a 5 day stall and this really helped me get motivated to do my last 3 days on P2.....Then on to P3. If I did another steak day will it make it hard for me to stablize in P3? Beth I was so happy to see that you are O blood type so am I. I have been worried about eating the beef and you helped with your advice. Thanks to everyone for thier help. |
I had a cheat day Saturday for my neice's birthday. I gained 1.4 lbs. so I did a steak day Sunday. Ate nothing all day until dinner and then had the lean steak, not sure how much (maybe 4 oz), had a little asparagus with it and then an apple for snack. I had 5-20 oz waters, 1-16 oz green tea, and 1-8 oz coffee. I am up .2 today. Am I one of the (un)lucky people who these steak days won't work for or should I see what the scale says tomorrow morning?

You have done awesome!!! I hope i get results like you!!! Did you exercise at all???
|
I'm happy to find this thread, as well! I am on R2P2 Day 25. I only have 5 more days of drops (if even). This past week I have not dropped at all. I am sick (sore throat which makes it hard to drink my water), and my TOM came 1 &1/2 weeks early (2nd time while on drops). I'M DESPERATE. http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...es/redface.png)
So, I had a green tea, 7-8 oz of steak, and an apple. Boy, did that steak taste good. I'm also going to try and take a detox bath. Cross your fingers and thank you everyone for sharing your information!! |

When I started HCG i was Mis informed and was told to do a steak day if I ever Cheated in p2.. and so after looking into things, i realized that i wasnt suppose to be doing steak day, which for me consited of not eating anything all day but a big steak for dinner... So on my first round of HCG I cheated many many times in the six weeks... always did a steak day the next day with GREAT results, always lost what i gained from the "cheat" the previous day, I know they say cheating is bad bc your not as likely to stabilize well in p3 and p4 but I stabilized perfectly fine in p3, actually lost an additional 5 pounds my first week of p3 and lost a total of 32 pounds for my round 1 and kept it off during p4.. now im not saying go out and cheat and just fix it the next day, im just saying... I think that steak days work great in p2... Now im on round 2 and I know each round gets harder, so I never cheat!!! well not yet anyway lol.. I have a lot to lose and i think thats why my body did so good on R1, im not taking my chances this time... BUT I have many friends that have jumped on the HCG bandwagon bc they have seen my success and I tell them about how i do steak days in P2 and i warn them its NOT on protocol and its up to them, and they all cheated and did the steak days in p2 and it works for them as well... just wanted to share that .. im on this forum all the time.. i love it.. i would be lost without it..

I have to report my experience with the "P2 steak day."
Both Saturday and yesterday, I was out and about with Husband and a friend who is visiting for the weekend. On Saturday, I didn't plan ahead sufficiently, and didn't have meats thawed to make myself take-along lunch and dinner. So, I decided to wing it. Basically, I had my usual breakfast, skipped lunch, had an apple for an afternoon snack, and ordered a 10-oz portion of fillet mignon at a restaurant, and a lettuce and tomato salad with vinegar and salt. I gave 1/4 of the fillet to Husband. Calories for the day were 501. I wasn't doing it deliberately to hasten losses. I tend to lose 1/2 pound a day on the average, although at times that average is screwed up by one or two "goose egg" days a week. The reason I did it was because I was flying by the seat of my pants on a poorly planned day. However, there were several benefits to doing this:
I reread Pounds and Inches, and I found the passage where Dr. S outlines the diet. He says that people shouldn't eat both portions of fruit or starch at the same sitting. However, HE DOES NOT SAY THE SAME ABOUT PROTEIN AND VEGETABLES. Here is the passage from P&I: There is no objection to breaking up the two meals. For instance having a breadstick and an apple for breakfast or before going to bed, provided they are deducted from the regular meals. The whole daily ration of two breadsticks or two fruits may not be eaten at the same time, nor can any item saved from the previous day be added on the following day. To be honest, faster losses weren't what I was after when I decided to combine my lunch and dinner portions into a single meal. I would have been perfectly satisfied with a loss of 0.4 on each day, seeing as it wasn't 10000000000% "on protocol." But, I can't argue with the results, nor with the gratification I had from figuring out a way that I can enjoy a meal out with family and friends, without feeling deprived in the least. |
I'm in my final week or so of R2P2, and the past two weeks were excrutiatlingly slow. One week lost 3.6#, the next 2.2#. I did a high protein day and lost 2.2#, followed by two more high protein days, each time loosing another full pound. I have eight days of injections left, 7.2 pounds to goal, and now have actually hope that I'll MAKE it! I really haven't been hungry, hadn't been having my fruit for a few days anyway. Frankly, veggies weren't sitting well either. It seems like I'm at the point the majority of P2 foods are truly starting to repulse me. My high protein consists of 8.5 oz lean ground beef divided into four burgers, or 7 oz steak divided into four portions throughout the day. And, of course, lots of green tea.

I have now been on P4, since the end of April. It's been going well. Last week, I went out camping with my friends and ate bad (a lot of snacks), plus had TOM this week. I was up 4-5 pounds higher than my adjusted weight. I thought maybe I would drop some lbs after my tom went away (nope). So, tomorrow I am going to try a steak day in P4 or maybe Bluetechseekers protein days.
Has anyone done a Steak day in P4?http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...s/confused.png |
I've had great success with steak days in P4. It may not take off ALL the gain, but you can follow up with a couple of high protein days to take off the rest. For you, the protein amounts can be higher - I'm finishing P2 and holding to 500 cals or less.
Good luck! |
I had been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for about 10 days and was frustrated. I haven't eaten red meat in over 18 years, so I was concerned that a steak day would do more harm than good for me. Instead, I decided to tackle a few higher protein days in a row. I started losing again, although I don't know if it was due to the higher protein or because my body was just ready to start losing again. Anyway, here's what I did:
Breakfast (about 120 calories): 4 egg whites, 1/2 egg yolk, 1 tablespoon of skim milk, and either 50 grams of spinach or 100 grams of tomato scrambled together in a non-stick pan without oil/fat. I know that some people have trouble with eggs--so beware. The rest of the day (360-380 calories): 2-3 regular servings (100 grams) of chicken/fish/seafood and around 80-100 calories of vegetables. Depending on my schedule, I would eat this as either 2 or 3 meals. I did this for four days. After that, I did a couple days where I kept my breakfast, but did only 2 servings of protein the rest of the day and added one fruit back in. Like I said, I don't know whether it was what let me start losing again, but I did. It wasn't as impressive a loss as the steak days are for others, but it seemed to kick start it and I lost 4.2 lbs in 6 days which is my biggest weekly weight loss since the first week. (I'm was on week 6.) |
Wow S2KGirl, excellent results! I'm unfortunately at the point seafood, chicken, eggs - BLECH. I just can't do them, just can't. That basically leaves me ground beef or steak - both still taste great to me, and don't sit like rocks. It just goes to show we can each succeed in our own way http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums...lies/smile.png
