Weight loss through traditional means (diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, et cetera) resulted in 32.7 pounds lost between 4 February, 2011 and 25 September, 2011. My starting weight was 344.5 pounds and I was 311.8 pounds 7.5 months later.

Deviations from Simeons' Protocol: - Chewed sugarless gum. - Subcutaneous injections rather than intra-muscular. - More than occasional use of cottage cheese and eggs as a meat alternative. - My homeopath mixed sodium chloride and bacteriostatic water with my hCG rather than Simeons' recommendation to "dilute with normal saline." - Used vitamin B complex at the start of the injection phase. - I replaced grissini/grissino with Wasa or Ryvita. - I gained past Simeons' restriction of 34 pounds, even if you permit me the extra 5-6 pounds for being "grotesquely obese", before I ended my injections. - Still use the same shaving cream, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, hair mousse, et cetera, as before the protocol. My foot still hurts, but it's nothing compared to what it was before. They've ruled out gout, though they are sticking with a diagnosis of acute arthritis, but have no clue of the cause. I'm currently awaiting a referral to a rheumatologist. |
