Weight loss through traditional means (diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, et cetera) resulted in 32.7 pounds lost between 4 February, 2011 and 25 September, 2011. My starting weight was 344.5 pounds and I was 311.8 pounds 7.5 months later.

    - I was directed to "eat normally" by my homeopath during my first two injection days. I attribute my lack of eating high fat foods over the first two days, as per Dr. Simeons' protocol, to a number of deleterious short-term effects listed below.

    - Sleep is erratic. I am not sleeping the number of hours I normally do (generally sleep 8 hours exactly and fall asleep seconds after my head hits the pillow) and it is a restless sleep when I do sleep.
    - Hot showers/baths make me feel faint. I feel "sick" after a hot shower/bath, for days after, which I attribute to detoxing.

    - Re-read Pounds & Inches again and realized I was unintentionally deviating from the protocol, so I got more restrictive: eliminated massage, no oranges, half a grapefruit rather than the whole grapefruit I was eating previously, cut back on my number of strawberries until it was a "handful", no more vitamin B and less eggs eaten "very occasionally" as per Dr. Simeons' protocol.

    - Skin is incredibly dry.
    - Woke up with painful stomach cramps (query: constipation? overexertion and pulled something?).

My foot still hurts, but it's nothing compared to what it was before. They've ruled out gout, though they are sticking with a diagnosis of acute arthritis, but have no clue of the cause. I'm currently awaiting a referral to a rheumatologist.
