chicav, I use broth in a box...look for msg free stuff, and low fat for p2. There are alot of makers of it...if salt bothers you, look for a low salt option. The stuff I use is like 10 cal per cup...I sometimes just drink it between meals, makes me feel like I had "soup" even if i didnt.....lol! Just read the ingredients....rachael ray makes one, swanson makes several, and there are alot of store brands. Remember it does count in your total calories, but if you go with the low fat ones, there really arent many calories.

Hi Chica.... I have a soup going in the crockpot as we speak...I use the low sodium, organic beef broth, I've put my 100 gram each 8 pieces of beef, (already previously cooked from a roast in the crockpot), added LOTS of organic sliced celery hearts, one small chopped organic red onion, and three large cloves of chopped organic garlic. I'm going to get 8 portions out of this, with the loads of celery counting as my veg., so I wouldn't do too much of the broth at one meal, since it's not really on protocol and screws up some people's results... so the pot I'm cooking would probably amount to about 1/2 cup of broth per serving. Hope this is helpful!

Its not exactly off protocol, so I wouldn't say its not on protocol.....you are treading a very fine line there. I tend to err on the side of ....if it didn't exist in Simmeons day, and he obviously didn't mention it..(duh)...but if it fits otherwise, its probably OK....of course you have to check for yourself...but most of us do use the low fat broth without any problems.
