Default Need Advice! Injury
Hi.
I am on R1P2 day 9. I fell this morning at work injuring my knee and ankle.I will laid up,off my feet for at least 5 days. I was going to use this weekend to cook ahead. My DH has to work all weekend as well as my son. Not sure how I am going to cook/prepare the proper foods. I also have to take pain meds as this is very painful. I'm not sure what I should do.

Hi there...

Man, that stinks! I have been recovering from shoulder surgery, but I can get around and such. Is there anyway they can just microwave a bunch of chicken breasts (sprinkle with herbs like garlic powder, chili powder, ms. dash, etc.) as well as some veggies. Just sit by them and have them portion it out and then they can microwave it and pop it in ziploc baggies for you to use. You could freeze these, too. They can nuke the chicken in some organic chicken broth.

Also, they could just buy some precooked shrimp and that could be grapped quickly. You could get some natural precook roast beef that is sliced.

Does that help?

get better and rest as that will help you heal quicker and then go full force with this!

Thanks Kathleen. Yes that helps alot and going to put those ideas to use today. I guess I kinda freaked out the first and was feeling sorry for myself. Yesterday my son,he is doing the diet with me,brought in a tv tray and would bring things I could like chopped veggies, juice lemons/oranges etc....once I got grip on things, much better.

My son picked up a pound of fully cooked snow crab legs and cracked picked and cleaned, for dinner. Made wraps with chinese cabbage. MMM that was yummy!!! Had enough left over to make a crab salad.... lemon juice, celery, onion. Think I can survive.

I have Vicodine for pain, that shouldnt effect losses? Today is day 10 on VLCD and have lost 11 pounds.

My dear sweet friend heard about my injury and brought over a big pot of homemade chicken soup, a pan of brownies and a big plate of warm choco chip cookies. AARRRRGGGHH!!! She doesnt know about the diet, figured I would tell people how about after the weight loss. That was very sweet of her and my DH and younger son will enjoy the sweets and me and my other son will enjoy the soup.We can eat the white meat and broth,no noodles or carrots.

Don't be distressed if you stall or even gain a slight bit with an injury, that is normal. Your body will retained fluids from the inflammation, and for recovery. Also, some injuries need a bit more protein in order to heal well. Getting yourself healed is important, so if you may need to add an extra oz or 2 of protein for best results.

Well I tried, I really did but when a few people heard of my injury I had more food than I know what to do with! Only it's not hcg diet friendly!!!! I slipped I admit it! A dear friend brought over my favorite Mexican casserole and wine. And she wanted to visit and chat while we enjoyed it togethe. Now it was a small plate and only 1 glass of wine. But since Sunday I gained 6 pounds! I could just cry! I expected a little gain, due to non protocol foods and due to injury but 6 pounds! So today I did steak day and giving up fruit until I see some loss.

I know I haven't been drinking as much water either since injury so I increased water intake. I only have 10 days left of shots. I hope that's enough time to recover from the cheat and injury.

Anything else I should do?
