2nd round question
Hi, this is my first time posting. I love the HCG diet and found it very easy. It really does re-set your metabolism. I have had birthday cake and desert and I have not gained at all. My hubby and I started the protocol this past summer. He did the drops and lost 22 pounds in 21 day..and went on to P3 and P4 and has kept it off. I did the inj. for 43 days lost 30 lbs and have kept it off for the past 7 weeks. Now for my question. I only want to lose another 10 or so pounds, can I do P2 for 14 days and then go to P3? Everything I have read says you have to go at least 23 days. I have books but have loaned them all out. My sister is on the protocol and 3 friends.
Thanks! jeri |
I am sure others will chime in here, but in my own personal experience... short rounds even at the required 23 days are the devil let alone only staying on for only 14 days. I did a short round to try & loose the last 15 or so pounds couldn't stabilize & ended up gaining all the weight from the short round and all the weight plus MORE because I couldn't stabilize. So here I am on another long round to loose 30+ pounds =(
I know 14 days is not protocol & it isn't likely you will be able to stabilize unless you go the required amount of time. If you only want to loose 10, you can try doing a short round & up your protein & veggies to maintain your weight till you reach the 23 day minimum. However I would definitely watch your weight closely when it comes to P3 since it's so difficult to stabilize =) |
Thanks Jessica, I can do the 23 days but I don't want to loose more than 10 or maybe 15. Do you loose less when you have less to loose? I know there is a chemistry to it. My husband did 21 days but that is so close to 23 I guess that's why it worked for him. For me the VLCF is the easiest part I think because when you have no choices you eat and forget it, especially when you're not hungry. I do not want to gain back the 30 I already loss!

Jeri - for some reason men always seem to loose much faster than women =( In a short round your losses will be less so you will likely need the 23 days anyway, just when you reach your goal add more calories to maintain the weight until you get to the 23 days. Don't cheat on a short round as it will make your stabilization much harder. Grammy says stabilizing is much better after 30 days but pay attention to the scale, add in more calories and get to at least 23. You can always add more days if you haven't gotten to your goal.
I hope it works for you. I know I personally will never do another short round. VLCD1 here for me today & 40 to go =( Keep me posted on how it goes. |
Are you saying going at least 30 days makes stabilizing easier? I can go how ever many days I need to but don't want to loose more than 15. I will go 23 I think and see how I do. Has anyone ever done part of R2 with shots and the rest with drops? I have shots that expire on the 13 of October.

Jeri, definately go thirty days. Once you've lost the weight you want to, you can up your calories with more protein so you slow down the losses. Jessica is totally right - if you went fourteen days, you'd have a horrible time trying to stabilize and truly risk gaining a lot of weight back.
