Mandeloo I saw in another thread/post that you should only use natural stevia (not truvia or any of those other brands). because it contains trace amounts of sugar. I think the brand recommended is Sweet Leaf natural Stevia. I see you are in NO.... Where did you buy your HGC from? Are you doing Injections or Drops?

I saw a thread elsewhere that mentioned that even though most artificail sweeteners and spices list 0 calories, most of them do have calories. Apparently, as long as a food product has less than 2 calories per serving it is allowed to list the calories as 0 according to the FDA. For instance, there is 5 calories in a half teaspoon of garlic powder, 4 calories in a 1/2 tsp of onion powder, and according to fitclick, the pure unrefined stevia cane has 15 calories per 1 1/2 tsp. These all add up. Fortunately I have always been at least 40 calories under 500 throughout P2; however I typically use a full tsp of both garlic and onion powder (plus a ton of other spices) when cooking my protein and often just to dust vegetables with, so the spices alone could add up and push you over if you arer pushing the envelope to 500 on food alone.

Also, if you are making P2 rootbeer where you put 8 eyedroppers of rootbeer stevia in a 1/2 liter of sparkling water, conceivably, that could be enough stevia to raise calorie count by 30 or more, especially if you drink several a day... could be wrong on that part, haven't found exact math on liquid stevia, but just thought you should know that there are a lot of 'invisible calories' that add up.

@ cgilyard: I ordered Corion injections from yourhcgdiet.com it's a very trustworthy site and comes in about 4 days with a kit and all. I looked all around for doctors who did it and couldn't find any. There's a clinic in Gonzales that does homeopathic hcg but charges you 400 bucks for what is sometimes just snake oil.

You can also order the kit as sublingual from that site I gave you but it's still rx grade and you mix it yourself. It's really best to do it that way so you can tweak dosages.

@bstrange: caloric intake isn't as scary as whether or not Stevia can raise your blood sugar. Anything that raises my blood sugar even slightly puts weight on me! It sucks!

Yes. I stalled a little bit the first time I had stevia. My physician said because I probably had too much. I had a bunch of drops lol. I now bought the sweetleaf, she recommended no more than 2 packs a day so I have a better idea for portion control. Since that first stall I watch how much I've used and my losses have been the same whether I use the stevia or not.

Also, I had the truvia, and it didn't affect me. I bought the sweetleaf after I heard the truvia wasn't a good idea and I wanted to play it safe.

when did you usually see your stalls from it? Next day or day after or later?

The next day I was the exact same weight. I also wasn't able to go to the bathroom. My physician explained that too much stevia can cause constipation which results in the stall/gain. She also mentioned that I if I didnt use any stevia I would probably lose even more weight. So now I only use it for grapefruit and sometimes with my strawberries.

After I have the exact same weight I tried the smooth move tea and drank a lot of water and I was good the next day.

Since then I use no more than 1 pack a day to play it safe and try not to go above 5 drops. She said no more than 2 drops but that seemed a little absurd because I couldn't even taste anything. The serving size on my stevia drops says 5-8, so I went with the lower number.

I hope this information helped you.

I use it in my tea every day. I haven't stalled yet.
I do wonder though because I buy the stevia in the raw at walmart. It is powder white and stevia is a leaf so they must be processing the heck out of it. Also I noticed it has Maltodextrin in it. I wished I liked un sweet tea.

Stevia in the raw is no good!
Try and find sweetleaf or liquid stevia. I was told even though you may still lose weight having the maltodextrin still messes with your hypothalamus making it counterproductive with the diet.

I used something else today. Not sweet and low, the other sweetener. The one that is one molecule off sugar. I was in McDonald's and my doctor said not to drink diet coke, so I bought an unsweetened tea and put put the stuff in the yellow package in there. I'm going to attempt to avoid these things. I was not in McDonald's by choice. I was there for an impromptu meeting. I was really trying to avoid the french fries. I was not hungry but being around it still bothered me.

I had rootbear sweetleaf stevia last night with sparkling water and gained two pounds. I think for some people it does cause weight gain.

Good thing I read this. I had no idea. I too have Stevia in the Raw. I can't find Sweetleaf. Will have to look a bit harder or try to drink coffee without.

Stevia is not sugar. Now if youbought anything other then KAL stevia it may HAVE some sugar in it, but Pure Stevia is not sugar, has no insulin loading proteties and has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity.... the thing you WANT to have happen.

but two f my freinds do get headaches from it YMMV

I was stalling on Wal-mart's Stevia (not the real thing), since bought the real thing and I'm now averaging a pound per day loss. It's really 'eye-opening' to realize the tiny little things do matter.
