Default Will sauna help you lose weight?
It is true that you lose weight when you use sauna, however, it is only temporary. You may lose a few pounds from sweating but those are only water weight. Once you rehydrate, you'll gain those pounds back.

Sauna helps you burn calories but it doesn't help with muscle building, fat shedding or muscle toning. The calories you burn in sauna is almost the same as the calories you're burning while sitting somewhere else.

Sauna, however, is a great way to detoxify your skin from toxins. It is also a good way to relieve stress which can lower blood pressure and elevate your mood.

So does sauna help you lose weight? Yes but only for a very short period of time. Nothing beats a good exercise to burn more calories and to lose weight for good.

I saw a TV ad once. They were selling sauna machines and said to make you swear like you just went on a workout. I knew it was too good to be true. =D

I never believed sauna will help you lose weight, permanently that is. But it is good for the skin.

I always wanted to try to go to a sauna after workout but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I guess it will be alright as long as I rehydrate before I do, right?

That's right sasa. As long as you keep your fluids up, you should be fine.

I agree. Anyway, I know what a sauna is but I never really been in one. How long can you stay inside the sauna room? How hot is it in there?

The temperature is around 80 degrees celsius (176 degrees F) and you can stay for up to 15 minutes. But if you it's you first time and you start feeling uncomfortable after a few minutes, I suggest you go outside for at least 10 minutes then enter the sauna again.

I have, just once though. I couldn't stand it. I have low tolerance for heat.
