1. The plan that was relayed to me by my naturopath does not have a P4 component. It has a 42 day injection cycle that starts with two loading days, but I was directed to eat normally, and then every 7th day I have no injection all the way to the end where the last two days have no injections.
a) Is it odd to be told to eat normally? I read a bunch of comments about people being told to eat extra on their loading days. b) Is 2 days without injections at the end strange? Most of what I'm reading has people having 3 days before moving into P3. c) Would I be best to add my own version of P4? 2. I worry about some of the things I have read about people gaining very quickly after being on this diet. I am wondering if that is normative, or if there will be a point in my future where I can go splurge and accept the natural consequences, rather than being hit with amplified consequences. Are you veterans having your diet affected long after you're out of these phases? My regular diet is very healthy, but it's sprinkled with naughty days, and I need my naughty days...trust me. 3. I have surgery coming up, so I am considering another round (looking at my signature you can see that I'm aiming for a surgical weight, as opposed to a healthy weight) after I have had my consultation with the surgeon. Would there be any issues with being on a VLCD and suddenly being called in to go for surgery? My surgical date would be long after I had started that round, but there's a possibility, though unlikely, that cancellations might bump me up to the top of the list unexpectedly. Thanks in advance, my spleen salutes you! |

1. Are you on HCG from your naturopath?
Many ppl on Rx take a break every week to avoid becoming immunized to it. Perhaps two days rather than 3 seem adequate to switch over from HCG. If this is where you got the HCG, maybe that is their experience. 2. Splurge means no sugar, no starch. Once you are clean from those, any indulgence can make you feel like crap. On the other hand in a healthy body, meat and fat can be a treat. 3. Surgery requires protein for recovery. Do not try to limit that in the process. You mentioned "spleen". What kind of surgery? Is it elective at all and is it possibly diet-related? |

Thanks for delving into my questions Itsy
![]() 1. Are you on HCG from your naturopath? Would you add another day to the end just to be on the safe side if you were in my position? 2. Splurge means no sugar, no starch. Once you are clean from those, any indulgence can make you feel like crap. On the other hand in a healthy body, meat and fat can be a treat. My wonder was if this diet puts restrictors on people after they've finished a complete round that are more amplified than a normal intake of unhealthy food. 3. Surgery requires protein for recovery. Do not try to limit that in the process. You mentioned "spleen". What kind of surgery? Is it elective at all and is it possibly diet-related? Not an elective surgery, nor related to dieting. No, my spleen is not related, I felt a bit of a spleen vibe wishing you well. I thank my knees too for putting up with my extra weight. I am odd ![]() |

You are welcome.
For Rx, I would add the 3rd VLCD at the end of injections before heading into P3 eating. You may add some starch in P4, but you have to watch the scale to see if it makes you gain. Sugar? No, only the occasional slice of birthday cake. There are much healthier alternatives. You may find as I did, that starches don't sit well in my belly & make me bloat, and I don't really care for most of them anymore. Both my hubby's and my tastes have changed. What used to be our favorites no longer are, although he is still a fan of sushi. ![]() |
