For the people saying that she'd have a hard time keeping the weight off... here's something you obviously missed from the article.

It worked! It took me about a year to get down to 120 pounds, and I've managed to maintain that for the last six years. I live in Taylor, Mich., and everyone to this day still asks me how I lost so much weight. I also think that the picture is incredibly unflattering... it'd be interesting to see what she looked like in a different one.

Default Too much weight lost??
Here's an article about a woman whom gained weight over the years and drank too much alcohol. She decided to make changes in her life and lost about 170 lbs in a year. I don't believe that kind of weight loss is healthy, either. What do you think??

What do you think about her pictures??

I think she looks fantastic but taking off that much weight that quickly is crazy. I'll be surprised if she keeps it off.

I actually think she looks better before the weight loss. I guess if her body burns it that fast.. it's cool

I lost a stone in 4 days once. That was some serious speed!

Oh, and what that picture dosen't show is all the loose flabby skin she has got tucked into that dress which she'll never get ridf of without surgery.

As long as she went about it in a healthy manor, which it seems to me that she has...then hats off to her. She may have saved her own life.

But if she exercised on a regular basis and worked on toning her body as the weight came off...I see no reason for that to happen.

Not with such a huge and rapid weight loss, it wont.

The before 289lbs

The after. 120lbs (she's the one in the black shirt, far right.)

I don't think she looks good... she lost it so fast, her facial features are sunken in, the skin didn't seem to get a chance to tighten at all. She looks like she's 55 now, she looked far younger before the weight loss.

I too think she looks older, but that is a bad picture, smiling might have helped.

haha i was looking at the one in the middle thinking WOW she looks young! ... ehhh I'm torn what ever makes you happy i guess.. she doesn't look dangerously skinny. she may find it hard to maintain the weight though. She may be one of these people that lose lots of weight rapidly then put some back on till they find a happy medium. Also that's a pretty poor pic.

Same here, I thought she was the one in the middle

I am aware that the normal/ healthy weight loss is 2 lbs per week or maxed out at 8 lbs per month. However, I have seen gastric bypass patients who had lost more than that but they were under the management / supervision of a doctor or dietitian. Kudos to her for changing her lifestyle and losing weight. I am hoping tho she consulted an MD whom she can follow up with so she remained under healthy weight loss conditions and that with that fast weight loss, she should have been given Vitamin B shots per week and had supplemental multivitamins to help her cope with loss of energy etc

Well, that explains a lot. I can verify everyone in Taylor, Michigan looks like a crack addict.

might be just a bad picture
you know the ones where you are about to sneeze and someone takes a picture of you
cause she looks tired
she might be about to say something that makes you make a weird face
who know
maybe she is sick and week and about to pass out

I have to agree. I think she looks worse--kinda like a drug addict . It makes me suspicious about how she lost such a huge amount of weight. I'm all for people making smarter health habits, but I think that isn't the case here. Also, like Peter mentioned, that weight has to go somewhere. Skin doesn't evaporate. Who knows what she looks like under that shirt? Obviously, she's wearing a girdle.
