Bottom line...there are still major problems with the Pal Arabs textbooks - whether or not they are better than the more hatefull Egyptian and Jordanian textbooks - and lets note that the PA agreed to end incitement in its textbooks while, to my knowledge, that agreement doesn't exist with Jordan and Egypt. Is there a map with Israel on it? Do the Jewish cities appear?
Please...this is more leftist garbage from Ha'aretz. It whitewashes the content of the books, saying that "while its troubling" its 'just part of the Palestinian narartive'. Problem is, that Palestinian narrative, you know, the Jews came and stole the land and are don't have a right to have a Jewish state etc. etc..... that is the number one cause of this conflict! What this should make you realize, though, is that the so called peace treaties with Jordan and Egypt are fragile at best, and any moves that Israel makes with its boundaries CAN NOT rely on having a peaceful nation on its sourthern and eastern borders. |
