The few songs with some new vocals are pretty good, but hearing his old verses over new beats, **** just dont sound right to me. Dudes take a grimy verse and put it over a happy sounding beat.
Plus they got him working with, 50 percent of these people, he would never ever work with .... this **** is a joke. Dont get me wrong, Biggie still one of the best ever, this Puff-ploitation album just dont [censored] work. So yeah, Ima hater. |

What you're typing about the grimy message not matching the beats... why?
That's the easiest way to get some musical confrontation going. Look at the huge success of "Forget You", the uncensored title. You've got happy, mostly gospel influenced pop music with a profane, breaking up message. That's what Ray Charles was accused of doing, mixing gospel and blues. And the "too many" notes that some royalty accused Mozart of using? They were ordinary folk music notes, not what the elite wanted to hear. So this has been a bone of contention ever since instruments were made out of bone. |
